is this still considered the standard with getting viruses and shit off people's Windows computers? i just had to deal with some folder populating bullshit on my cousin's pc that disconnected his ethernet and took away his admin. i got these on in safe mode but combofix wouldn't work because he cracked his windows 8.1 installation with kms or something, which made it appear as windows 2000 somehow.

anyway, im just curious if i'm out of the loop or if these are still decent.

Do you guys have difficulties being productive on your laptop screens when you mostly work at your desk using a big monitor? I don't just mean big in size but also more screen estate.

I bought two 1440p monitors a while ago to use it in my home office and now whenever I'm on the move and try to get work done on my laptop, I feel extremely constrained, often to the point where I can't get anything done.

You must have a shitty employer if they actually expect you do to work on business trips.

I'm self-employed. I do need to travel every now and then and try to be productive in the train/plane but I seriously can't. Not only that, can't get work done when I'm at my girlfriend's for a few days, either.

What should I buy with a $15 dollar Google play card? I don't really see the point in buying apps when I can download most for free, so let me get some ideas

It depend on what you do with your phone.
I have an old Nexus 4 running Dirty Unicorn 6.0.1, and i've only bought 2 apps.
Rom Toolbox Pro and Titanium Backup.
I think this two are the minimum to have, if you test multiple ROM on your phone, or if you like to "try" things on your phone ;-)

If you have a car, Torque Pro is a good app to have.

Bluetooth adapters are ~$8 on ebay.
>>
>>53735139
You can get them for free ever except in the play store.
Don't waste money on apps like this.

I don't program in haskell and every google search I do explains monads in terms of "Maybe Monads" and the examples are written in Haskell.

I don't fucking know Haskell and none of the examples may any sense with the maybe examples.

Can someone in laymen terms describe what
>Monads
>Bind operators
>Functors
>Type Constructors

are?

I have a math background (but not category theory), so can use some basic math to explain this shit.

My previous comment got deleted (an anon gave a good response) but... this is what I understand

>>53734130
Thanks for the thorough explanation, but none of that means anything to me. I don't know Haskell.

Can you explain what this shit means in a non-Haskell way?

I read that 'functors' are 'containers' and when you apply an operation to it, you unwrap the 'container' and apply the operation to the individual functions then 'wrap' the results back into the 'container'. So, like if you wanted to apply the binary operation of multiplication and the container type was type list and elements were int, then you'd apply multiplication to the ints and put it back into the list. Is this shit accurate? How do you formalize what a functor is (without using haskell)?

I know what monoids are... but have no idea how they or anything else applies to define the monad.

So TL;DR can you fucking tell me what a monad/bind operator/type constructor is WITHOUT using haskell?

Thanks anon

The bind function is comparable to the fmap function of the Functor typeclass with one simple difference.

You use fmap on shit like List Int to apply a function like multiplyByTwo (signature would be Int -> Int) and get back a List Int with all numbers being multiplied by two.

So what if your function returns a List Int instead of just an Int? You'll get something like List List Int but sometimes you want just a single flat List Int.

The bind function is function composition like fmap but it turns nested shit like List List Int into List Int or Maybe Maybe Int to Maybe Int.
>>
>>53734571
Okay, so my understanding of how a functor is applied is correct?

>So what if your function returns a List Int instead of just an Int? You'll get something like List List Int but sometimes you want just a single flat List Int.

Can you explain that more?

Say you have a container-- it is a list
the elements in the list are int

You apply multiplyby2 to the ints and return a list of ints. How do you get a List List Int?

Okay /g/.

I have an question: can a Intel Centrino laptop still survive in 2016?It's a Acer Travelmate 800 that I got for cheap, with a non-working touchpad though. I popped a 10GB HDD and a new DVD drive, and loaded up XP SP3 on it. It has 1.25GB RAM (DDR1) and a Radeon Mobility R9 with a max res of 1400x1050.

So? What do you think /g/,can it hold up in 2016? I do have ''lite'' DVDs (and even CDs) of Windows Vista SP2 and 7. This laptop also has a WiFi card (some 2003 Intel 2100 card)

Oh,and the battery still holds charge.

Why?It came with a DVD-RW drive that couldn't read anything,so I had to replace it with a QSI (Toshiba-made as far as I remember) DVD/CD-RW drive.

My Deathadder 2013 I bought a year and a half ago died and I'm stuck with a $6 mouse until I get something decent. Razer wont repair it because I bought it from ebay. When I bought it, it was on top of /g/'s mouse guides. As I don't have a lot of money now but I need to get something, I came to ask what is the best budget gaming mouse. I only care about having a good build quality (cat loves to kick mouse off the table) and the two extra buttons, and I never regretted buying something /g/ suggested (even the deathadder was great while using, despite that it died).
Anything from Logitech, since I heard they will honor their warranty from wherever you buy?

tl;dr Best budget gaming mouse

folio case.

I bought this shitphone and whenever I use it, the screen goes black.

I can still hear noises like it's still working, the screen just randomly goes back and doesn't come back on until I hit the power button and unlock the phone again, but any time I initiate anything on the phone the screen just goes black again.

What could be the issue?

Why do freetards have such a hard time understanding the concept of anonymized data?

We laugh at the paranoid fucks who think that people are analyzing 4chan posts to try to build profiles for 4chan posters but it's considered normal to be paranoid about anonymized data.
