So I decided to go against /g/'s recommendation and take the Windows 10 free upgrade? Why does every talk badly about it so much. I've been using it for one week so far and haven't had any problems. It's much faster than Windows 7 and it runs my games better too? Why does everyone hate Windows 10 so much. It's fairly decent imo.

I agree with you

Yeah I don't understand what all the hate is about either. It looks much nicer and more modern. The appstore is great. What's there to dislike about it?

I have noticed Windows 10 uses a lot less resources than my Windows 8.1 install. Windows 10 is where Microsoft got everything right about windows 8.

why did apple have to fall off on design after the late 00s?
will we ever be able to get stuff like this but with modern hardware?

Honestly i liked their looks better but i didnt like taking those things apart compared to the newer ones that came after. The palm rest was a bitch to get off and easy to bend in doing so and everything being everything else, like the hard disk, was kind of a nightmare. The plastic island keys are also better imo than the aluminum ones that would eventually get worn down. The only thing i like a lot more about the old ones is i enjoy a locking lcd and a strong hinge even if it isnt as effortless to operate.

If apple bothered to put matte IPS screen in one of those devices used by young people to check if their retro mustache style is in place I could consider trying it out.

I knew I shouldn't have listened to /g/ about installing Linux.

If I stayed with Windows I'd just download the exe and install the updates myself.

If you stayed with Windows you'd need to. You're not real clued in on *nix update policies, are you? Yeah, you really should go back to Windows. See ya.

Sorry mods

There are four ways to try GNU/Linux, you can:

0) Install a GNU/Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
1) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full GNU/Linux experience".
2) Dual-boot GNU/Linux with Windows/Mac (recommended if you want to learn more about GNU/Linux)
3) Go balls deep and overwrite everything with GNU/Linux

Before asking, please search for answers to your questions in resources.

Please be civil, notice the "Friendly" in every Friendly GNU/Linux Thread.

Understand that much of your software from Windows will be unavailable, although maybe WINE can make up for it.

I've got two monitors, primary is smaller and on the bottom (laptop), bigger one is above it. What I want to do is to make desktop icons default to the laptop screen.

I've tried this on MATE, XFCE and Cinnamon and neither seems to allow it by default; icons always autoarrange to the top leftmost screen. Is there any way to circumvent this on either DE?

This or 6s if you're into BBP.

I just got Galaxy S2 and I have a few questions:

- it was imported from Singapore, so the 7th and 8th digit of the IMEI are "04" (made in China). Will that affect ricing in any way?

- I want to try some of the popular ROMs and shit. Should I upgrade from 2.3.4 to 4.0.4 first or is that irrelevant?

- I found a few sound clips of chinks speaking chink in the phone's memory. Is that suspicious or does that mean they were just testing it before shipping?
