Am I allowed to package and distribute Closed-source software in the same zip as Open-source GPL software or is it against the rules?
21 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
Only if the closed source proprietary software has no dependency or relation to the GPL'd software.
>>
>>54352253
It interacts with the GPL software and calls on it to extract metadata from files but is not connected to the GPL program's code.
>>
>>54352293
That's risky. I honestly wouldn't

It's the start of the month /g/! Time to calibrate your monitors and rotate your ram!
7 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
Why the hell would I rotate my ram?

Rotational Velocidensity?
>>
>>54352082
It's too n prevent bianary burn. If you spend a lot of time using your computer for browsing the web and other tasks that have little variance, the ones and zeros in the RAM can become stuck in place. Thus, by rotating RAM, you add variety to the ones and zeros, which better lubricates then.
>>
>>54352164
oh man, I definitely don't want that happening to my RAM, is there a third party RAM lubricanr I can buy?

I have $350 to spend on upgrading my PC for gaming, this is a vanilla Dell XPS 8700 prebuilt. I have never built my own computer or selected parts for one before but ive played pc games casually for years. Recently I have played a lot more frequently and my current system isnt standing up to games like ARMA3 (20-35fps on lowest settings and CSGO (100fps on lowest settings) and LoL(60 on lowest settings). I need your help/expertise in deciding what upgrades i can buy for my pc.

Current Specs:
Windows 10
intel i5-4460 @3.20GHz 4cores
8gb ram
1tb hdd
NVIDIA GeForce GT 720

Also general pc thread
I've never posted on /g/ before so please excuse me for any noob moments

http://thenextweb.com/us/2016/05/01/tor-vpn-users-will-target-hacks-new-us-spying-rules/

So what now? Are there lesser-known alternatives to VPNs? Are there any likely consequences for people who will continue to use VPNs?

copy pasta for the lazy

>Tor and VPN users will be target of government hacks under new spying rule

>An update to the innocuous-sounding Rule 41 of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure could soon grant powers to judges across the US to issue search warrants for law enforcement to remotely access devices that are using privacy tools.

>The new rule, which has just left the Supreme Court and is headed to Congress, could also end up targeting people who have been a victim of malware as it seeks to find the source of potentially harmful botnets.

>Malicious actors may even be able to hijack the malware the government uses to infiltrate botnets, because the government often doesn’t design its malware securely. Government access to the computers of botnet victims also raises serious privacy concerns, as a wide range of sensitive, unrelated personal data could well be accessed during the investigation. This is a dangerous expansion of powers, and not something to be granted without any public debate on the topic.

>Congress has until December 1 to strike down the amendment to the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure, otherwise it’ll come into force across the federal court system.

>The key word here is “procedural.” By law, the rules and proposals are supposed to be procedural and must not change substantive rights. But the amendment to Rule 41 isn’t procedural at all. It creates new avenues for government hacking that were never approved by Congress.

Using netstat, what should I be looking for in the output? Literally 0.0.0.0? I see a couple of asterisks, does that signify port 0.0.0.0?

Sorry, I'm fairly new to this

I don't care. I only use youtube to search for videos. And I could probably do that using a generic search engine.

I don't use/make comments on videos. I don't use their video player (I either download the video or stream it to my local mediaplayer). I don't allow their scripts to run in my web browser.

They can do anything they want to the look and functionality of the site. I couldn't care less.

Kid, I don't think you grasp what meme means. Try turning down your 'I am a complete fuckhead' knob and quit making these threads..okay.

The girl's mother in which I was her first love asked to fix the laptop and recover the HDD data. I had not been able to fix it and said it was necessary to replace the HDD. However today I found a way to recover the data but I am afraid if I will be disappointed what I will find there since we had a long flirtation in the past and she left me. What should I do?
Yes, I still like her though.
Let's play a simple logic game
The goal is to get to -100 or 100 each post you add one or subtract one.

You may ask how is it a logic game? You are trying to get to a certain number the fastest way possible. Like analysing trends.
