Remember when intel was good?
>>52523491
Nope.
>>52523491
I'm the first to defend AMD, but it's not difficult to get the best score when you have a 220W housefire.
>>52523531
So explain why the 125W 8350 is second in the chart, ahead of a 130W Intel housefire.
How do I get a job in tech if I always spill spaghetti at interviews?
Look at this thread. It is just great.
>>52523490
Don't spill spaghetti at interviews?
>>52523518
It's not a choice. If it were I'd choose not to.
>Compared to Windows 7 PC’s, Skylake when combined with Windows 10, enables up to 30x better graphics"
http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/microsoft-will-not-support-older-windows-versions-on-upcoming-pc-hardware.html
so tell me /g/, why haven't you switched to windows 10 yet? Your poor ass GTX 950 might even become a gaming beast.
>>52523363
What's Skylake?
Will it work on the good ole' GNU/Linux?
Is it on the spectrum?
>>52523384
it's intel's new processor series. no idea if it works with linux, try googling it

Checks out.

So I hardcoded a function in my interpreterDEFS["foo"] = definition(["a", "b", "*"], ["a", "b"]);
and somehow the fucker works$ ./maths
>eval foo(1,2)
= 2
>eval foo(2,7)
= 14
>end
fucking magnificent
it should already be possible to define recursive functions, except that I haven't implemented conditionals so it would have to be recursive forever
but god when shit like this actually works it's like coke
>>52523249
So cute, is it a boy's love manga?
Friendly reminder that programming is not exclusive to computers and anyone that argues otherwise is an uneducated code monkey who probably doesn't even write their own algorithms.
How long does it take to learn the basics of SQL?
The basics? A day
>>52523063
Basics as in? Queries? Complex joins? DML? DDL?
It's not that hard really, depending on the complexity. Relational algebra and set theory help.
>>52523183
>>basics
>complex joins
>>basic
>complex
>need excel for work (tons of vba macros)
doesn't work
>want to play dark souls
doesn't work, have to use wine trash with huge performance hit and bugs
>need to interface with an iDevice
have to setup a qemu/kvm win7 vm and fight with usb passthrough
face it, linux is trash and is only good for neets, facebook machines or code monkeys
>>52522944
>One argument is Excel, which isn't needed for every job.
>Another is Dark Souls, which isn't needed for any job,
>The last is connecting to other trash.
Be sure to sage.
Linux does have its issues as a daily desktop, but it isn't useless. Given the alternatives, it's just what I put up with. If Mac wasn't overpriced and Windows wasn't increasingly forceful with invading your privacy, I probably wouldn't used Linux, as I'm not a very computer-savvy person.
I downloaded Antergos when I built my computer because I didn't feel like looking for a probably fucked up illegit Windows 7.
I got windows 10 on my laptop and already don't regret having gotten Antergos for my desktop. I don't want to have my computer trying to take the liberty of doing things for me or updating without me asking.
If windows was like windows 7 but with constant optimization, I would probably wipe my computer and stay with it, because it is more convenient. My computer hasn't been able to read USB drives for weeks now and I can't figure out how to fix it. Probably wouldn't happen on Windows.
I could actually play games with my friends and not figdet with Wine, or play ranked anything without worrying about crashes or huge performance drops from the imperfect method of emulation.
But I also don't have to worry about stuff getting put onto my computer "for my own good" or anything like that. I dunno.
If I could find a legit windows 7 I'd abandon Linux, or at least dual boot with it being my secondary OS.
And yet it's still a better choice than Windows. Your only argument is that it's worse because it doesn't run software designed for Windows as well or at all. That's not the fault of Linux, but the fault of the software creators.
Keep a separate Windows PC if you absolutely need some piece of Windows-only crapware/game.
>>52522944
>I write my computer programs in fucking excel
Learn a fucking proper programming language you wincuck
So /b/, i need your help since i barely use computers. I recently reinstalled all my drivers and windows because somehow my system got corrupted and i couldnt access anything, now that ive reinstalled everything, i cant seem to access the internet without being in safe mode with networking.

8 days prior to its warranty, the battery has exploded.

Have you ever bought a refurbished laptop /g/?
I purchased a refurbished t410 a year ago. It's still works perfectly, got it for around 250 bucks

Safe as a street hooker and a 10 year old rubber.
Your move.

Alright you motherfucking dickstenches, get in here. I've got a question for you bastards. No copypasta, no trolling, no triggering intended. But I am calling you out.
You motherfuckers are concerned about your privacy. An understandable concern given the world around us, and the businesses in it. However, this board is, if I was to give a ballpark percentage, I'd say 75% filled with Linux fags and smartphone conspiracists who scream from mountaintops the dangers of giving all of your information to big companies.
With the importance of security and internet awareness withstanding, I want to know what makes your fear of personal information being available to corporations reasonable. I ask this on a personal level. Do you think Microsoft really has people watching your every move from your Win10 PC? Do you really think Samsung is maliciously documenting your mother's bank cadocumentinen she uses Samsung Pay? Are you really concerned that Apple has minutes upon minutes of your sister's FaceTime minutes stored in some facility somewhere?
Do you personally fear that companies will use your information for more than advertising/sales to advertising agencies? Do you really fear that (as LESS than a technological criminal) entities do MORE than the most basic of information mining?
tits or gtfo

I got your slightly above average dick right here. Now answer the question, b.
