I went to the ATT store last week and tried it out. My only gripe is that the keys are too small (I have big hands). Otherwise I have no complaints besides the price.

Hey /g/, what do you think about PowerColor GPUs?

They're the cheapest option by a large margin for the card I want, the R9 390. However I know nothing about the brand; I've only ever seen them mentioned in passing. Are they some chintzy overheating bullshit or a genuinely great deal?

Is Safari a good browser? I've recently started using it and it's been a bit uncomfortable after many years on chrome and chromium.

Any of you guys actually using it as your daily driver? Sidebar or favorites bar? What are your go-to extensions? How's website compatibility? Is it faster or more efficient than chrome or firefox?

best browser on macbook. insanely fast, responsive, great battery life. full screen with no address/menu bar too. paired with tweaked gesture controls via better touch tools (like adding a gesture for tab cycling left/right and refresh) it is bar down the comfiest browser on OSX

there we go again.
>>
Is there something wrong with the 970?
>>
>>51523526
Is there something wrong: yes
Does it still work: yes

>what is wrong
The 970 has a flawed design (on purpose). The 4gb memory is made of two components, 3.5gb high speed memory and 0.5 gb slow memory. The reason? The 970 with functional 4gb would be almost as fast as the 980, but Nvidia didn't want to market a 3gb card. The result? If the last 0.5gb is being used the card throttles HARD.

It's an amazing card IF you disable the last 0.5gb (which is possible I think) but if you buy it you are actively supporting business practices like this, which you should not.

On top of that the AMD alternative to the 970 is the 390, and probably the only good card they have released this generation.

Old one's over 300

I installed Linux mint of my pc and after installing NY drivers I noticed it was 32 bit. So I go download the 64 bit version and boot it up and install it. But now Linux recognizes that my Ethernet cable in connected but won't connect to internet even though it was working fine on the 32 bit version

What is the best motherboard manufacturer?

I want to stick it with asrock, but I'm not sure at 100%.

Is there a better MB with Socket LGA 1151 compatible with DDR4 and full-ATX?

I'm planning build a living room computer for my parents. I basically need a decent browsing and video playback machine with a lot of space for my dad's music and mom's movies and shows. This is looking a bit into the future so I'm not interested in any Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals. I need recommendations for:

-Cheap but half decent CPU and mobo: I'm thinking an A6-7400K since Microcenter does mobo bundles with those, but I'd like y'all's input

-Good 2TB HDD and 120GB SSD

-Affordable and kinda quiet mATX case.

I'm trying to keep the budget under $350. Here's a half-assed rough build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/M7jPCJ

>living room computer

>just to play some movies and music

Sounds like total overkill. Just get some HTPC and use cloud storage or huge memory sticks as external backups.

Why in the god's name people still want to build PCs with cases and power sources just to watch movies and play sound files beats me.

I would just get an htpc for that or an intel computer stick with some mSD card or stick memory. More than enough for HD movies playback and all.
>>
>>51523572
It's not just for movie and music playback; it's mostly going to be a browsing machine with an HDMI cable going to the flatscreen. My dad has a shit ton of music and hates cloud storage, so I need a big hard drive. The SSD is there just because it's within budget and it's a nice thing to have. I know they ought to stream, but they're too old to care anymore.

Just fucking buy a mac mini or an alienware alpha and plug in external drives into the back.

Explain to me this shti
i exchanged hd 7770 for r9 380
to play games but the first game i tasted was far cry 4
and fps is all over the place its 60 to dorp to 20 to get to 40 and to 60 and back to 30 its just madness
when card is actually working fps is rock solid 60 but card seems to down scale its clock speed for who know what reason and than fps drops
my cpu is old its phenom x4 955 oc'd to 3,8 ghz i can understand bottleneck but its not the case cpu usage is maximum at 60% never more and usually at 40%

FarCry4 is really heavy on the CPU anon.
its not gonna get to 100% because of the bottleneck it causes to the GPU. upgrade to a FX atleast.
>>
Thermal throttling perhaps?
