As much as java might be a slow and meh language, it is an industry standard and one of the most used languages in the world. That said, I use VIM for c code, though emacs is fine too.

I need portability, my house has 3 floors and I don't wanna be dragging one around

Hi /g/entoomen

where can I find some feet for my PC case?

I've looked everywhere for ones specifically for my cooler master silencio 550 but found none.

are case feet universal or do they have to be specific to my case?

>pic related, my PC

>>
>>51520424
I don't know about that case particularly, but in a lot of cases they just have screw holes for them, which means that although they aren't universal, you should be able to find generic ones that'll fit.
>>
Also if you're lacking feet there's an easier solution - turn your PSU over so that the fan intakes from inside the case, instead of through the bottom.

Is there a relatively cheap and easy way to get around the region-locking of blu-ray players and discs?

I've looked around online but can find surprisingly little information on this. Perhaps I'm looking the wrong way and/or in the wrong places but all I seem to come across is forums with links to ridiculously expensive players which come region-free out of the factory.

I have basically no knowledge when it comes to this, so any relevant information would be greatly appreciated.

I never looked into it because I don't buy many blu rays and the ones I do work fine in my player, but how about something like this http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-BD-F5700E-Region-Blu-Ray-Player/dp/B00GR9CP88
>>
>>51520411
try some chink stores. BR region locking on big name players generally cannot be undone now a days, chink brands can be simply manufactured without. You see the "standards board" of blu ray members are a combination of manufacturors ( Samsung is one ) and movie labels. So just avoid them all together.

>>
>>51520411
Wait, disc-based media still has region locking?

It's like they want people to pirate.

The sole benefit of development in Linux is that I can simply type commands into the terminal to download libraries, compile code, etc.
However, this means I'm not using an IDE as my development environment. And therefore productivity is zero. The fancy terminal commands, and by extension Linux, are irrelevant.

It's 1972+43, why can't I have the best of both worlds? Why do you shoot yourself in the foot by developing in Linux, when in reality it's best to use an IDE, and thus any other OS?

My bro's computer is such a piece of shit. LIke a real piece of shit.
As far as I know it only runs Windows XP, and it started getting viruses. Since all my bro does it is play retro games, and any retro emulator he could possibly need I can easily get for Linux, I thought I would install an Ubuntu partition. I got part of the way through the installation process, and then it just fuckin' stopped with no indication of continuing.

Bored, I just reset the machine and gave up, but now it fucking blue screens every time I turn it on. Since my bro is on vacation in California, I have until Friday before he gets back. What should I do? Since the ever reliable ever accesible Ubuntu won't even fucking work on his shitmeister (Let alone Windows 7) and I can't find the XP disc that was used for his machine, what can I do?

I don't think he'll care about using a different OS, as long as he can play his retro games, so is there a reliable Linux OS I can install?

I've already tried
>Ubuntu
>Linux Mint with Debian
>Kali Linux (Before you ask, I just had it lying around, and decided what the hell. Doesn't work)

I've heard of something called Damn Small Linux. Is that worth trying out?
