Why aren't you using Fedora /g/?

It has bleeding edge packages, it is user friendly and in the same time stable enough for average desktop. Even Linus Torvalds use this distro.

Intended for users of all levels, including absolute beginners.

There are three ways to try Linux, you can:

1) Install a Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
2) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full Linux experience".
3) Go balls deep and overwrite everything with GNU/Linux (not recommended)

If you are serious about switching to Linux and if you have Windows dual-booted (recommended for pure newbies),
we recommend you use it exclusively for 2 weeks, and avoid Windows dual booting for that period of time, or it's
likely you will start retreating back to windows instead of getting used to Linux as your new home and working on
making it feel the way you want it.

>Recommended for beginners:
-*buntus except vanilla Ubuntu (Unity)
-Debian (For Broadcom devices, use an ISO that includes non-free firmware)
-openSUSE
-LinuxMint (a.k.a Ubuntu LTS + Cinnamon)

Before asking, please find the answers to your questions in resources.

Please be civil, notice the "Friendly" in every Friendly Linux Thread.

Understand that much of your software from Windows will be unavailable, although maybe wine can make up for it.

What is a DAW?
Digital
Audio
Workstation

>What DAW is yours?

>How long you been on it?

>How long have you been into music?

>What genre do you play with the most?

>What Genre do you think you are best at?

>Have you thought about changing up to something else?

>What's your favorite synth, no matter how dumb it is?

>Do you see yourself doing this way later on even if you get no where?

Bonus points:

>Why don't you look at me when we make love any more?

1 simple rule I hope you can guys do, please don't be assholes to those who
have a different perspective on another DAW, no matter what it is or how shitty
it is. I know there are some very laughable ones out there but ya know...
So please just be as helpful as you can.

>this is /g/ not /mu/ gtfo

We do not talk about the music as it is but how it's created and what we use and how to help
others get better

Seriously tho, using a Daw on the linux side of things is an absolute nightmare getting that ass backwards Dssi-vst wrapper working correctly. Even then it's just not even worth it.

Will they become great again? Will Nvidia and Intel dominate GPUs and CPUs in the future?

Maybe. At least they'll be significantly better than they are currently, and thats something.

Never. All the talent is at Nvidia and Intel. Unless they somehow get a breakthrough in technology and come out with something vastly better for cheap and don't fuck it up with something like usual they will always be the poorfags choice.

staying at this level is probably why the market has stagnated

also because of dipshits like intel figuring out retards will pay for 0-5% performance increases even if it's a 30% increase in price just for the ability to overkek

Sorry for killing a thread for this, but I can't tell if my mobo pins are bent. I built a computer recently, and ended up RMAing a PSU because when I pressed the power button, the fans would all spin for a millisecond, and then nothing would happen. The red light on my motherboard would stay on, but it wouldn't post and nothing would happen. I searched a bit online and found out this is usually a psu issue, so I returned it.

However, on a whim today, I decided to check my motherboard and noticed that half my pins look uniformly bent to one side and vice versa.

Pic related. It's the best quality I could get.
I'm not familiar with the pins in socket deal, as my first and only other computer I built was back in 2006 or something.

Build is:
i5 6600k
Asus z170 pro gaming
Psu: rosewill photon 650
Rest is probably irrelevant.

Graphic card general. What are we buy, looking for, waiting for?

I just bought a 670 for $115 including shipping to SLi with my current one. I needed a little more power while I wait for Pascal.

Pascal and HBM.

GTX 980 already struggles with a single 4k monitor.

We all wish for 120 fps on triple 4k monitors with a single GPU for less than $500. Until 8k comes out.

Tried to trifire a 290x with two 290's for fun

Could temp throttling be bad enough to only add 1000 graphics score from 2 to 3 cards?
