assuming the marketing hype is close to reality and it will be able to achieve close to 4 tflops peak on fp64, does that mean it will be able to do ~8 tflops on fp32? cause fp32 is pretty useful for gaming.

Why is LMDE the best Linux distro?

>No Systemd
>Easy to install
>Respects your freedom
>Very fast and responsive
>Doesn't support Zionist pigs
>Caters to both beginners and experienced users
>The perfect mix of the ease of Linux Mint with the stability and packages of Debian

Why aren't you using Linux Mint Debian Edition /g/?

>Pic related, it's me after I switched to LMDE and when I realized how autistic I was for using Arch

It's the only Linux distribution I ever used desu. Mainly because I couldnt figure out which Debian files I needed for an usb install. It's still on my laptop.
>>
>>51538081
>no systemd
Until next release
>easy to install
If you want bloated garbage
>respects your freedom
If by that you mean your freedom to get raped by unfree firmware and software.
>very fast and responsive
On a modern supercomputer anyway.
>doesn't support zionist pigs
As opposed to terrorist scum.
>caters to both beginners and experienced users
In the sense that neither are allowed to get what they need.
>The perfect mix of the ease of Linux Mint with the stability and packages of Debian
In other words, 60% of the package ecosystem of ubuntu, with buggy, broken pacakges that won't get updated or fixed for the next decade. This way, it's easy to break X!

I just had a pipe burst in my house merely feet away from my desktop while I was using it. I immediately covered the top intake, unplugged it and removed it from the room but how can I be sure no water got in?

I don't even want to even think about using it again till I can be positive there has been no water damage. What do, /g/?

take out every single component and spray compressed air over it(to speed up drying)

thats about all you can do.
>>
>>51538026
take out each component and piss on them, urine does not conduct electricity so it's a safe way to clear any water.
>>
put the computer in the freezer overnight, any water will turn into ice, problem solved.

Looking for recommendations for good VPNs, open to suggestions and any advice.

-Has to keep no logs
-Preferably a legal jurisdiction outside of the UK, EU and US.
-Price, whatever don't care
-Speed needs to be good, I have 200mbit internet
-Needs to not bandwidth shape and needs to allow P2P
-Preferably a single static IP end point to allow incoming services.

Pic unrelated, it's my battlestation with new 4k monitor.

I know this isn't a tech support forum but I'm really lost right now:

>create a Windows 7 USB boot device
>pirated copy that has all the versions on it at 64 bit. I've used it on my pc many times
>plug it in my friends pc while it's off (he's running 32 bit Win 7 and wants a format/upgrade to 64 on a new SSD he bought)
>turn it on and the pc hard freezes before posting
>turn it off and take out the USB
>turn it on, loads up fine, put the USB back in and I'm able to browse it in explorer without any freezes
>restart pc without USB in since it will just freeze again, get into setup and change boot priority so it boots from the USB as you do when trying to install windows
>restart the pc with the USB in the port, it hard freezes again

What the fuck am I doing wrong? At this point I'm thinking it has something to do with the 64 bit interface being incompatible with my friends pc as when I try to run the setup.exe I get an error that I can't run a 64 bit program on a 32 machine. Should I just install windows on his new SSD in my machine, then swap it out into his once it's installed?

Hey /g/;

I'm really considering switching to the Note 5. I have owned every single iPhone since the 2g came out back in 2008. I have had the 5s for around 2 years now and I'm really sick of it. Both the price/utility and the actual usefulness of the phone sucked. Is the note 5 worth it? Any technical problems in software/hardware I should be weary of?

samsung phones are ricer shit with proprietary buggy insecure garbage ROMs
only black people and asians dressed in basketball-american streetwear use samsung
if you want to try android get an actual nexus phone. it's a cleaner, more stable, and more secure product all around
buying a samshit phone because you want to try the android experience is like getting a fiero with a ferrari body kit because you want to try an italian sports car. just why.
>>
Samsung Galaxy is literally the most lag-extensive, bloatware packed, locked down overpriced shit which will blast out all atrocities which are possible in Android onto your first impressions of the mobile platform in general and as a whole. I'd preferably recommend something from Motorola, HTC, LG, or the like for which the benefits and advantages of Android are truly applicable.
>>
Not worth it.

Get the z3/z5 instead, for that amazing battery life.

Samsung is shit.

Is C a good first programming language, /g/?

I've had some experience with scripted languages (Python, PHP) and a tiny bit of C# to get my head around object-oriented programming. Many people I've asked laugh and say to learn Java or C++ for classes, I thought I'd be good to start on C before I worry about those.

Is it a good move learning a 40 year old language? Any textbooks? I know DMR's book is the bible but it doesn't seem good to learn from.
19 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
It depends on the project. It's good for low level stuff where you need to do *everything* manually.

It's not very good for larger, high level programs.
>>
You should actually start with C++. C is deprecated and only studied nowadays to see how things used to be. Like when kids learn Latin in highschool/college. You'll never need it.
>>
>>51537441
>Is C a good first programming language
Yes. In my opinion, the best one to start. Some turboautist will ignore the fact that I just stated "in my opinion" and will come hit me with his Lisp and SICP, but having good knowledge of C has opened so many doors to me in my professional life I can't but recommend it.

Is there any difference between using Displayport or DVI?
16 posts and 2 images submitted.

Display Port supports sound if used with HDMI, DVI to HDMI doesn't carry sound.
>>
>>51537383
So if my monitor doesn't have sound, runs at 60Hz, and only displays 1920x1200, there's no point in changing the cable?

So I've got a close friend who want to sell me a Nexsus 7 for 80€ (85 USD) cuz he don't need it anymore.
Now he borrowed it to me so I can decide...
Great conditions, the screen have a tiny scratch but you hardly see it.
He gave me basically everything, even a cover for it and the receipt. (see in pic)
Now, I don't know much of tablets but you think this is a good deal? Especially because it's no longer commercially avaiable. Or there's also better shit at the same price?
