How come no-one has implemented a cross-platform development platform that lets you do whatever the fuck you want with any language you want, and it comes with HTML/JS?

Why would anyone want it to come with fucking a JS?

Hey /g/, for some reason it sounds fun to play with fiber optics. Connect a few pc's together or something.
However, I can't figure out what to get. I have a large roll of fiber optic cable, but how do I fix connectors to it? Do I really need $1500 equipment?

bitch light is so fucking sensitive to distortion and the cables dont just "plug" into sockets like good 'ol electrons, you need specialized tools to connect and disconnect joins, FO to Digital converters and the other way around, Ethernet encapsulation and basically be a fucking techie to even do the equivalent of "RJ45 from A to B"
>>

I'm well aware, but everyone has to starts somewhere. Advice is welcome on some things to google or read :)
>>
>>54685605
If you want the "instant mash" version, just get two FO NICs (PCIe cards that go into each computer) and if your fiber isnt capped, look up what to buy and how to go about affixing it to either end and voila, a very expensive ethernet replacement.

Speed? same as copper <100m. Does not drop over distance like copper does. You'll be capped by your storage using FO.

Unless you want to connect two computer literally kilometers apart this is a waste of money. However if you have like a cabin in the midle of the woods and your home is on the edge of town you could realistically run a single cable to it, no repeaters, as far as a few kms.

wtf are these lines and how do I get rid of them?

I just had the monitor apart for a different reason, but the lines didn't get better or worse. They've been getting worse over time though it seems.

It's not the DVI cable or computer because I plugged a laptop in on the VGA port and the lines were still there, and while the monitor was apart I had a spare hooked up to the DVI and main computer.

So it's hardware or a loose ribbon past where I took all the boards off (which would be right at the screen edge I guess?) but googling gets me a ton of dead ends, e.g. check your cable 1000 times.

Lines are consistent, cyan, red, purple, don't show on black or white, don't show on pure grays, very visible on any flat color. Really bad when playing vidya.

What should I do besides buying a new monitor?

Can more companies (when they get everything right) practice the ideology "If it ain't broke don't fix it?" Let's consider a few examples:

Windows: Seven is obviously the most well-known after XP, and rather than add-in the features of 8 like the Windows App store, the sleeker task manager, the Windows Defender that works, and things along that line to make their OS better they just create an entirely "new" OS that's just shittier than the last. Don't get me started on 10.

Google: I guess google wants to innovate or something because when you now use google on mobile devices they show trending searches of the day. Why anyone would need this is beyond me, when you're on google you're obviously there to search for something specific, so for it to give you recommendations based on what other people are searching is retarded. Just have an analytic of the day or some shit in a different webpage if you really care that much.

I could go on too, like Twitter, Facebook, pretty much any company that has their product down nearly perfect but corporate thinks they need to innovate to stay relevant. Does /g/ agree?

>>
Because money. They do need to innovate, or their stock will lose value. Nobody would want to invest in a company that isn't trying to find more profitable methods, because then the only way to go is down.
>>
>>54685060
they make money when people upgrade to newest shiny so they will never follow this principle. based japan does though. people there still use XP

it doesnt tell you exactly your location. it cant determine that based on IP alone. they can tell where your ISPs servers are that you are being routed through, but that's it.

enjoy having all your traffic monitored by the military though, as thats what it appears is happening.

I usually find some old alims and remove the casing for my projects. You can find simple schematics easily depending on what efficiency you need

get a 12v or multi-voltage power brick from an electronics store (or some online shop, i suppose)

The reason I personally don't like them is that they pay a premium to get a crappy version of a Unix operating system that doesn't have the benefit of free software.
