Anyone else have enterprise-grade WiFi?

Just bought a Ubiquiti UniFI AP AC Lite. It's living where my old Linksys was, but will be relocated to a more central location at some point.

had the mionix castor for half a day and it didn't work out. so I'll go for the zowie now, replacing my mx518. why is there no proper successor to the mx518 or intelli mouse.

steel series mice and the zowie seem to be the closest in terms of shape and ergonomics.

what mice does /g/ recommend use? most of the charts floating around are outdated.

Yeah, I'm in pretty much the same boat. I reckon I'll pull the trigger on the Steelseries Rival.

G400s and Zowie mice have the best sensors.

Other business laptops are also welcome in /tpg/ (e.g. Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook).

If you're looking for purchase advice, READ THE BUYERS GUIDE FIRST. Then post, stating budget and requirements (e.g. size and performance).
Don't buy anything OTHER THAN T, X AND W SERIES if you want the Real ThinkPad Experience™

Recommended models:
T420 - 14", normal size
X220 - 12.5", lightweight

Why ThinkPad? (also applies to other business laptops)
>They’re really cheap when you buy a used one.
>Keyboards feel excellent while typing (yes, even the newer ones).
>Great durability thanks to the inclusion of rollcages and use of glass fiber reinforced plastic for the chassis. The keyboard is splash proof and spilled liquids will drain out.
>Utilitarian design - e.g. indicator LEDs, 7 row keyboard layout on older models.
>Docking solutions that easily turns your laptop into a desktop.
>Easy to repair, upgrade and maintain thanks to readily available service manuals for almost every model. Spare parts are easy and cheap to obtain.
>The best trackpoint (that red thing on the middle of the keyboard). Great for those who type a lot or hate swiping their fingers all over a touchpad.
>Excellent GNU/Linux & *BSD support.

"So a little update for you all, Lenovo still working very hard on the ThinkPad Retro project. A team of Taiwanese diehard ThinkPadders will visit Lenovo Yokohama next week, and they will be briefed on all things ThinkPad (and some details on Retro). Apparently, right now the bottleneck for Retro project is on sourcing the screen. for 13.3 inches 16:10 and 15.4 inches 16:10 IPS screens are all exclusively produced for Apple. But i am guessing CES we will see the prototype for the Retro ThinkPad."

Aww, that's so nice. The rear fan is actually green, it's one of the case fans, Nanoxia deep silence. It's just there because I was too lazy to buy proper fans for the case, 7 expensive fans on the rads are enough, I just re-used what I had here for the rest.

I built a gaming desktop in ~2006, left it behind in 2008 when I went off to college.

Went to go boot it up now, can't get any video to appear on the screen, not even a POST message. One of the disk drives was making funny noises (has cd and dvd) so I unplugged both and the hard drive as well, but the symptoms are the same.

All leds light up and the fans spin, and that's it. I don't remember if it's supposed to beep or not on POST, the SMT pads labeled "buzzer" are unpopulated and there's a jumper marked "speaker" near the USB connectors but my case doesn't have a connector for it.

Could a dead CMOS battery cause all this? I don't have a spare one on hand. None of the capacitors are bulging.

Any ideas? I was hoping I'd be able to scavenge some pieces from this build but it's going to be way harder if I can't tell what's good and bad.

Forgot to mention that the shelf it was stored on is only ~12 feet away from my old computer desk, so I don't think it was banged around too much.

Also the CPU and southbridge heatsinks stay pretty cool to the touch after being on for ~20 seconds, but the northbridge heatsink gets suspiciously warm.

The motherboard does not have a video out so I am testing the video through DVI on the video card. I double-checked my monitor with a few different sources so I don't think the monitor's the problem.

I dropped and shattered my Z3C screen. Probably would just use it anyway except it disabled the digitizer so I can't.

Does anyone have any experience replacing the screens on this? I've fixed a lot of phones but this one looks like bitch because the front and back are just glued to the frame. What's the best angle of approach here? Would buying an LCD with frame be advantageous?
