Hey /g/, last week i started learning how to develop games for android using opengl es 2, but it was a pain in the ass, i mean, for drawing a fucking triangle you need to code a lot of stuff (http://pastebin.com/0JNbEWVR). So i wonder how much time woud take to develop a complete game, like for example, a 2D game with UI: some buttons on the screen, some images representing the enemies, effects, etc, like a turn-based rpg. So technically i have to load a lot of images, make some transitions or events for the screen when you walk and when the battle starts, etc.

>coding the same shit that's been done a thousand times thinking you're clever
not gonna make a game tier.

Get unity or unreal if you're serious.
>but "real men" (I read this on /g/ so if I repeat it here it must be true) code in base opengl only!
Real men use free tools and make money off them. Unity doesn't even have royalties.

What is a DAW?
Digital
Audio
Workstation

>What DAW is yours?

>How long you been on it?

>How long have you been into music?

>What genre do you play with the most?

>What Genre do you think you are best at?

>Have you thought about changing up to something else?

>What's your favorite synth, no matter how dumb it is?

>Do you see yourself doing this way later on even if you get no where?

Bonus points:

>what is the best instrument you never see any one talk about?
>inb4 the spoons

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
>this is /g/ not /mu/ gtfo

We do not talk about the music as it is but how it's created and what we use and how to help
others get better

1 simple rule I hope you can guys do, please don't be assholes to those who
have a different perspective on another DAW, no matter what it is or how shitty
it is. I know there are some very laughable ones out there but ya know...
So please just be as helpful as you can.

Fuck that whole game of what music is supposed to be right now. It’s so fucked up even listening to what sounds like people trying to get super good at a video game or something. It doesn’t even sound anything like self-expression, it’s like… I’m awesome within these predefined parameters that are presented to me. Which I guess most artists feel is what’s exciting about a genre. They see a few people doing a similar thing and then everyone just jumps on it and goes, “I’m this now!” It’s like if a bunch of people wore the same fucking outfit from the Gap, you know? What is the difference between that and being awesome at World of Warcraft or something? Not much. It’s almost the same thing if you think about it.

yeah. only general complaint with fedora is it's "100% freedom" approach can get a bit tedious (manually needing to add repos to install anything nonfree), but it's pretty good.

gnome or kde?

KDE is better than GNOME overall, but Fedora specifically works best with GNOME because they pretty much share the same developers at Red Hat.

>MATE
profile page on github says 22 people involved
"team" page mate's website says 6 people (not counting packagers, translators and former contributors)

>XFCE
no github page
"team" page on website says 9 people involed (not counting packagers, translators, you know the drill)

So which DE would be objectively speaken better in terms of performance, stability, feature set?
Don't counting looks here, because that would put MATE at an obvious disadvantage
>>
>>53681910
mate wins in all categories

mate is gnome2 forked after it's development ended in favour of new gnome3.
and gnome2 has been around since like 2003.

it was a very mature project when it was discontinued.

>Don't counting looks here, because that would put MATE at an obvious disadvantage
mate is gtk2 just like xfce. Most themes work with both.

Hey /g/, do you miss the Internet when it felt like an adventure - before it was ruined by normies and degeneracy?

Older youth speak of the 90s as the time to be alive, but I say naught. Us youth born between 1995-2000, we grew up in an era of digital pioneering, an era in which the internet, video games, the newest books, and the playground down the street all lived in complete harmony, none at the expense of the other.

The late millenials will always remember Youtube in the days of Shoes, Charlie the Unicorn, Fred, AVGN, Nostalgia critic, Planet Unicorn Theme Song, Boxxie, and Bon qui qui, just to name a few. We'll always remember laughing at the toddlers playing Webkinz while we thought we were so much better playing Club Penguin. Runescape, Star Wars Battlefront, Halo - They all were pastimes. When Green Day was cool to listen to, when Post-Punk and the newest pop dominated our ears. When pre-movie Spongebob and Drake and Josh were shows of choice. A world that had yet to be explored, a world that looked so fun and optimistic.

How I wish to experience that era all over again.

Hi /g/

I recently read that GRRM still uses DOS to write his books with WordStar and I'd like to give it a try, I've got an old acer netbook starving to death somewhere in my room and I'd like to know how could I install DOS and use it only as a "typewriter".

Also I'd like to know how I could export my files.

Thank you in advance.

Do you want a legal key? Buy one.

If you don't, use an activator. KMSpico is one of the more popular ones.

Also go to sqt next time.
