Footage from cameras that aren't dash cams are rarely admissible in traffic court. A dash cam's entire job to to record indiscriminately in the event something happens. A sports camera/other cameras are not meant for that, and not only could your motives for installing/using such a camera be called into question, but if your state/area has laws against recording 3rd parties without their permission, you could be counter-sued/fined/thrown in jail for recording someone without their permission, even though it's from inside your vehicle.
Liken it, if you will, to shooting someone who enters your house illegally (in the US) and you've told to leave. In the majority of times, you're in the clear if it was done with a legally obtained, stored, and utilized gun that would be reasonable for such a case. However, if you unload 2 magazines of ammunition into this guy, with your (legally obtained), fully-automatic, collectible WWII submachine gun, theres going to be some debate on what your motive was for thinking such a gun and method was appropriate for home defense, and you might actually go to jail for it.
Tl;Dr: Go buy a real Dash Cam. Don't use any other type of camera. You might get in trouble. Also, your insurance rate might go down if you report buying and installing a dash cam to them.

One website is likely to have more than one server. The first server sending a default error page because the servers it depends on are busy/offline is just that- the first server sending a default error page.

Usually occurs when you have a load balancing service in front of your appservers than can handle a lot more load (usually a good idea)
The error shows up when you run out of backend servers to serve all your users hitting the loadbalancers/proxy frontends.

So I was interested in deploying a pi-hole on my network with a Raspberry Pi.
Being Australian, the cost of the Raspberry Pi was retarded, so I figured I would be better off virtualising it. I've got a pi-hole instance running on a virtual machine on my media server. Headless Debian combined with the pi-hole script and utilities.
Now, this option is significantly less effective than running uBlock Origin. What it does do is provide ad-blocking for my mobile devices and and Xbox, stopping all kinds of bullshit on my network.
So two things /g/:
1. Anyone interested in a quick walk through on how to spin up one of these instances?
2. Anyone got any suggestions for any other cool/useful stuff I could spin up on my network?
Wouldn't it be more efficient to use it as a firewall after your router and to set up caching for faster browsing?

I hate web development. It feels like a fucking circus, everyone wants unrealistically cheap slave labor, you spend most of your day putting out fires and dealing with server related bullshit or doing remedial tasks for cheap clients.
Freelancing for web development is even worse. Everyone wants an American web developer at Punjeet and Rakesh prices. "You can't do a PSD to Wordpress for $100? Fucking greedy developers."
I want to get into software development. They make far more money and every actual dev I've talked to loves their job.
What's the best way to get started so you can get into freelancing and actually make some money? I just want to forget the past four years of my life and web dev period. I fucking hate it and it sucks.
