Or is it like Outlook where (for people with jobs) it's still king?
>>53912941
Not if they keep on doing retarded shit, like changing keyboard-shortcuts. Who thought it'd be a great idea to change some stuff like underlining to ctrl+u and keeping others to ctrl+shift+button? Unconsistency is a pain in the ass.
No.
What the people behind this don't seem to understand is that MS Office isn't used just for word documents. LO Writer is the most polished part of LO suite but it still just sucks for a lot of things, the rest of LO suite is so much worse that it's embarrassing.
>>53912941
All Office Software sucks, desu. The whole Idea of WYSIWIG document processing is flawed, in my opinion.
If you ask me, it's way better to write documents in a markup language of your choice and produce exactly the output you wish. Advantages are consistent designs, simple editing once you get the idea, plain text source files. The only real advantage office suites provide is baby duck and "where do i click lol" mentality most of the technologically impaired adapted.
Who DNSSEC[1][2] here? Why do you use it? What do you use it for? Have you considered TLSA (DANE[3]), SSHFP[4], OPENPGPKEY[5] RRs yet? Discuss.
Perhaps you also use DNSCrypt[6] for encryption of your queries? Or maybe you like to encrypt everything and you're running DNSCurve[7]?
Newbies section:
>DNSSEC uses asymmetric cryptography to securely sign all RRsets on all authoritative name servers that have DNSSEC enabled. This thwarts tampering and spoofing of identity by attackers.
>If you're thinking about registering your own domain, check if they offer DNSSEC. Some registrars automatically sign your zone, which means you most likely can already add your TLSA RRs and such. Other registrars offer to upload your DS RR, or your KSK/ZSK's public key instead. That's also nice if you wish to host your authoritative name server yourself.
There's also an interesting new IETF draft, SMTP STS[8]. This leverages DANE to securely connect to MTAs when encryption is to be expected by strictly adhering to the TLSA RRs. This as opposed to the weak default opportunistic encrypted connections MTAs usually establish between each other, which is easier to downgrade, and vulnerable to man-in-the-middle attacks.

I've been trying to install Manjaro on my desktop for awhile now, every time I try to boot it off my USB it just hangs at this, I believe it's something to do with my hardware as it works with laptops. My internals are:

Are there any decent quietish mechanical keyboards that dont have bullshit lights and a bunch of macro keys?
Im looking to get one for work. I only have access to one usb slot as well (1 for mouse 1 for keyboard)

If you work at an office that's going to severely limit your choice of switches.

matias quiet click pro if you want tactile
KBP has a v60 and v80 (i think) available with these switches, as well as the other matias switches.
most linear switches are quiet, and you can always put o-rings on the caps to soften/quiet them.

I'm finally starting the process of dumping Windows for Linux as my home desktop/workstation. I've been looking at a number of distros, and I've zoned in on openSUSE as my leading candidate:
>big/well-known distro, so lots of info and resources
>not a meme distro like Arch or Gentoo, works out of the box
>community is not a bunch of SJW cucks like Debian
>not botnet-tier like Ubuntu
>YaST and other configuration tools are supposed to be good
>Tumbleweed release is appealing to make upgrading a minimal-effort thing
How reasonable of an assessment is this? What does /g/ think about openSUSE? Is it a reasonable choice for someone who is familiar with Linux, but doesn't want to invest the time that Arch/Gentoo takes?
Try it out, it's free, nothing to lose, if you don't like it and want something similar go with Fedora. Or try any other Ubuntu derivatives. Even Debian is good, just make sure not to install the server features.

I am sick of all this screen tearing, how can I get a tiling window manager a la bspwm on Wayland?
>>53912032
swaywm.org
Or, and this is the far better option, you wait about ten years or so for Wayland, and software developed for it, to come into their own. Stick with X for the foreseeable future.
why huge desktop environments like kde already support wayland and tiny windows managers are stuck with x?
>>53912753
It's called modularity.
If you take as example i3, it is written enterily with Xorg native functions.
Do you like Laravel, ci, or you own framework ?
Did my first bigger PHP projects in Codeigniter. Tried Laravel a bit, but didn't like it for some reason.
Currently writing my own MVC framework with similarities to Codeigniter.
I'm currently working on a Symfony website at work, teaching myself how to use it and turning it to a piece of spaghetti. Processes EDI documents and creates them from POs. Can connect to Xero's API which was kinda fun doing.
Never made a decent website from scratch, what's a good website to make that will teach me some cool shit? Blogs are fucking boring. Was thinking of maybe using Riots API or something else like that so it's interesting.
i have a real problem whenever i try to start a project.
I understand the technical challenge and i understand how to approach it. In my mind i have a clear picture of what controller i create what packages i will get, etc...
but then its been a whole day and all i have done is create one page which will be the template for an actual page.
i realize i have failed and done nothing and then i give up and delete everything.
Alright /g/ents, im creating my own domain and could use some feedback.
Im thinking some sort of spin off between 4chan, reddit and craigslist. In which you have your typical boards and threads, but you also have an anonymous profile and or email in which you could connect and communicate with a single anon, as well as buy sell or barter items of topic.
Does this sound fucking retarded or what /g/, genuine feedback would be greatly appreciated, calling me a faggot would suffice as well i suppose.
>>53911879
which would essential leave you with thousands of reviews all over the board, also implicating impluse buy sell or trade aside from actually looking for something. in theory this is.
also creating a place for the independent to create his own product and publicize it to a mass number of people without any real marketing, sort of like etsy
