Learn something like Vala or Wren or some other weird language without books.
Time to transfer your general programming knowledge, a book shouldn't be necessary at this point.

So close, but so far to literally the perfect Nexus phone.

>better battery
>dual front facing speakers

That's literally all it needs. Performance is great. Screen is just the right size at 5.2. Design is simple and attractive. Finger print reader works beautifully. USB Type-C with fast charging is a huge plus.

I really hope this isn't the last Nexus 5 we see. It's apparently not selling to great and everyone's sucking off phablet size 6" phone.

Wow, long time Nexus 5 user here. My only complaint is lack of sd and just now realized the 5x doesnt have it either.

What the fuck were they thinking?
>>
>>53906753
What exactly do you store on your phone? My last phone was Moto G 3rd Gen 16GB+32GB MicroSD card and I never came close to filling it up.

I'm not saying it wouldn't be nice to have, but at 32GB+ storage I don't the lack of expandable storage is a big deal.
>>
>>53906753
Google wants you to use muh cloud and will never add an SD slot. Annoying.

The Nexus 5X is so close to being great, but the horrendous build quality keeps it away from perfection. The buttons are so flimsy and weak they might as well not fucking be there.

Personally I think its really worth the price.

I'll be using it to mainly do stocks day-trading and coding/programming for class.

Steelcase leap.

Just bought one, best chair I've ever sat in.

What's wrong with that chair? I use it also seems alright.

Drive around to some stores and sit in the chairs they have on display. Buy one that feels comfy.

Sup /g/, anyone have any experience with reinstalling android on unknown devices? my brother brought home two andoid tablets that his work was going to throw out but there are no identifying markers on the device such as who the manufacturer is or what commercial model the tablet is based off of. managed to get it rooted and installed a hardware info app so i can get specs and whatnot. the thing is locked down beyond belief, was built only to run the web browser for kiosk mode or some shit.

I have written a very large program. About a year's work. It is passing all tests, no memory leaks, thread errors, etc. It's ready to be released and all I need is documentation and a license.

I want a license that is permissive where people are free to contribute, redistribute, but where I have sole rights to patent the original implementation or core of the program (I don't care about your opinion on patents).

What license is the best for me?

Most people barely know the difference between patents, trademarks, trade secrets and copyright. Don't listen to anyone here and talk to a lawyer. If you have a patentable idea I'm pretty sure any lawyer would advise you to patent them before you post that idea all over the internet.
>>
>>53905992
>>53906080
Oh and I forgot: fuck you and your software patents.
>>
>>53905992
Most pre-made licenses deal with copyright, not patents. Though it's irrelevant anyways since if you are truly the creator of the patentable material, then no one else would be able to patent it anyways (unless independently created, etc.).

Hey /g/uys,

I fell for the ultrabook meme, even though they're pretty sleek (ASUS UX31A), the 250gb SSD isn't cutting it for me, can you guys recommend me a good external HDD?

I was thinking about getting pic related, link below

Okay /g/, tomorrow I'm going to Goodwill to look for computer parts I can salvage to build a gaming PC. I'm obviously not going to build the whole thing from salvaged parts, a lot will be bought new at a later date. Anyway, are there any particular models to look for? Also, if anyone else has done this, do you have any advice? And no, I can't afford to just buy a gaming PC.

If you're heading to a goodwill I'd assume you'd be looking at lga775 era stuff maybe?
If you can find a full working PC then I'd just take that and replace some of the parts.
Looking for individual parts might be a bit of a headache, but I've never been to a goodwill so I don't actually know

I don't know how much stuff you're gonna be able to find at a goodwill desu

Personally, my goodwill has almost fuck all when it comes to computers. It's all keyboards and mice, maybe a DVD reader.

I'd just loo into what >>53906455 is saying and just buy an old used PC and replace some parts. Best of luck.

Hello there /g/

I want to say, first off, that I'm new here. I'm coming with a question that I have not been able to answer by googling, simply because it does not show any feasible results.

My father recently had about $12,000 cash stolen from him out of his personal fireproof safe from the closet in his bedroom. Our suspicion at the moment is that our perpetrator used an RFID detection device to locate the cash in this house.

My question is as follows:

Is it possible to use a RFID detection device to find cash that could be hidden in various places, be it with a smartphone app or handheld device?

Thank you so much.

or like any jamal would do.. find safe, assume cash inside, open and steal..

if everyone had s safe at home people would be stealing more.
>>
>>53905863
I find it unlikely that the RFID would be able to go through a full metal safe. Most likely what >>53906250 said

My /g/'s, I know this topic has been covered. But how bad is the botnet of Windows 10 vs Windows 7 after you do all the standard de-botnetting to 10?
I'm going to get a new desktop later and can't decide which one to put on it. I'll also be dual-booting with Debian.

W7, W8, W8.1, W10... All botnet. Doesn't matter what you do. Choose the latest, because it's faster.
>>
>>53905892
This anon knows.

Although I wouldn't say the fastest, think 8.1 is faster and I got way more issues compared to 7. At least it doesn't look as shit.
>>
>>53905738
Doesnt matter, if you get w7 they'll just make you upgrade lmao
