Why is Windows even relevant anymore?

B-because it wasn't BTFO?
>>
Mainly enterprise market (exchange, AD) and the fact that legacy support was (and probably still is) big part of Windows' development strategy.

Actually the iPad pro got BTFO by the microsoft surface

try not to torrent on a vps, but it depends on the hoster.
you can always get a seedbox for cheap. you'll have no problems there

Yes but it's because of the internet not inherently a platform or operating system.

The internet provides a constant flow of new information which is addictive to the brain. If you keep this long enough your memory starts deteriorating and you begin having ADD symptoms.

Why do people recommend Linux mint?
It offers no advantage over Ubuntu and somehow manages to perform even worse than the distro it's based on.

>it just werks
So does Ubuntu.

No one here recommends mint, faggot.
Drop the autism
>>
People recommend mint because Cinnamon is a comfortable de for people coming from Windows.

Although Fedora has a Cinnamon version too, so there really is no reason to use mint

Aside from voiding your insurance why do you guys think its a bad idea to root your phone you get full permission to do whatever the fuck you want if done correctly but the only way you can fuck up is if you can't read

Redmi 3 here. Rooted it without unlocking the bootloader. Feels good man. Nevermind the fact it literally doesn't matter in Europe because companies are forced to insure the hardware no matter what for 2 years (minimum).

Is there any incentive for a NEET to learn everything there is to learn online about e.g "networking" to enter the job market? I see there are some online certifications you can shekel out for. If this fails maybe I'd go for learning Java/JavaScript afterwards, more on the CV is always good i guess.

Nigga you better be learning something while being a neet. Leeching off your parents like a parasite is a bad thing, they only signed up for 18 years, you're putting a huge extra burden on them. Learn whatever the fuck you want but without collage you're going to have to show employers/clients that you're better than those with a collage degree if you want to be taken seriously and have steady work.

I built a new home server because the ITX one I had didn't have enough space, so I used that box for pfSense. It's nothing particularly fancy but I wanted something better than my ~2007 Asus wireless router between me and the internet, since it hadn't had a firmware update this decade. It's just an access point now.

just that and a cheap consumer gigabit switch. I've thought about rackmounting my shit to have a nice neat cabinet instead of just hiding boxes and cables behind the monitors on my desk, but it's too expensive.
>>
>>53897116
forgot to mention, the thing I'd like to do is set up DNSCrypt on said pfSense machine, but my investigations of that have convinced me that I'm probably not good enough to set it up and make it work

Hi /g/

Batteries are technology!

Im planning on moving to live narrow boat in a year or so and i have questions about power.
How do i work out how much power my devices require?
How do i work out what i can generate?
How do i work out what i can store?
Power will be generated by a combination of the roof being almost fully covered in solar and a hybrid diesel//electric generator/motor.
Is there a limit to how batteries can be connected in serial or parallel? whats the difference between serial and parallel? (I understand the definition of the words just not how they relate to batteries, what are the pros and cons?)
And what are Ohms, Volts, amps and watts?

Any advice would be much appreciated or if you can point me to a good online resource that would be great, a lot of what ive seen seems disjointed or outdated.

All I can say from experience being on a boat for an extended amount of time is you're gonna become insanely claustrophobic I couldn't stand not being able to get off. As for the power I don't know, best of luck.
What kind of boat and where are you gonna be living? Definitely need a mobile hotspot at the least for your Internet and TV needs

So, I have been trying to solve this issue for 5 months now. Registering in 3 different hardware / Android forums brought exactly NO replies.

>Using a Z2 until last summer
>Mostly as a MP3 player with heavy / daily use
>One day the audio jack brakes
>Searched for it, found a replacement tutorial vid
>Bought a new jack for my L50W
>It looks exactly like before, the audio cable is plugged in
>Still no audio and no headphones

HOW DO I FIX THIS SHIT? Please prove me you are worthy and not consumerist pigs that buy new. Give me hope...

Remember when Microsoft was mad that Netscape was better than them, so they purposely broke Windows so that Navigator couldn't render or connect to certain pages?

IIRC the reason why Microsoft prevailed on the PC was that Kildall's DOS was much more expensive than MDOS.

Was any kind of userscript released to rehost stuff to the pomf clones directly from the browser yet?
I don't feel like installing sharex or shit like that downloading and reuploading the stuff, if Imgur can do it I'm sure the clones can too
