Asking "Hey guys, what's your opinion on x?" is frowned upon.

Headset requests are frowned upon.
Isolation ≠ Noise cancellation
If you dislike a headphone suggestion, try giving a better suggestion to whomever asked instead of going "hurr, brand x sucks"

Hey guys i am looking for a program to use as an equalizer for my laptop. I have quite bassy headphones with recessed mids so i need to bring them up a bit. My audio drivers for the laptop are shit not working.

So i found this app Equalizer APO (pic related) and it works. Do i keep using it or is there anything you could recommend?

i want to get into linux but i struggle hard with cli management. what can i do to refine myself? i keep getting errors on various levels for changing config files or even just locating them. it really hurts but i know the potential behind cli is that i can navigate without having to bend my wrist a shitload with the mouse, and to me that's valuable as fuck because i already spend hours on end drawing and playing the piano.

basically, for /g/, do you guys ever look at a mouse and think "i wish i didn't have to" or to a trackpad? i just got fed up. i'm gonna be getting a small keyboard and will just throw this shit away if i can, but i'm worried about how my productivity will drop due to having to learn keybinds. am i biting off more than i can chew by trying to replace EVERYTHING with keys?

Using the mouse is actually more ergonomic and better for your wrists than keeping it perched over the keyboard and twisting your hands around to hit obscure key combos for every tool you use.

>am i biting off more than i can chew by trying to replace EVERYTHING with keys?
You're wasting your time. You'd be more productive just getting to work than forcing yourself to memorize dozens of key binds for dozens of programs just to save yourself a second of clicking so you can feel cool on /g/.

t., an emacs and vim user who has no problem using the mouse when it's the appropriate and easy tool for the job at hand.
>>
>>54729981
Properly-built GUIs can provide more intuitive user experiences than memorizing hundreds of different commands and keybinds.

But I guess it won't make you feel like a leet h4x0r so do what you like.
>>
>>54730387
hitting a key to me is just a position of my finger and not my whole wrist. i spend hours drawing and making music, and it pays its toll on me. when i have to write documents and code alongside that, i just want to be able to allocate some of it away from a mouse.

Hey /g/, Could we get a vintage computers thread going? Discussion, pics, experience with old systems, etc. Preferably from between 1959-1985.

A website that aggregates these hobbyist freetards and assigns them projects generated by a costumer base. Think of it like capstone projects for uni requested by non-CS students/faculty.

Customer logs in, puts in a request for a system that does X with requirements a, b, and c.

Dev (student looking for a project idea etc) logs in, searches projects, selects one that interests them and is assigned a role on the dev team.

It would probably help to have a volunteer project manager to stay in contact with the customer and designate required roles for the project(admin type shit).

I'm a professional iOS developer for a fortune 250. I'll give you the honest answer.

YOU WONT MAKE IT
BECAUSE YOU WANT
SPOONFEEDING
YOU LAZY SHIT

Seriously how hard is it to google? Read several webpages? Get a consensus?

How hard is it to search Amazon for the highest rated books? Stackoverflow? Again, Google?

But no, you want to be spoon fed a tailor made curriculum that tells you what order to read which books to what chapter and do what projects.

You know what? I used to give people like you answers, and EVERY TIME

"How goes book 1?"
Oh I'm on chapter 3.
"Well... It's been a month. What happened to a chapter every 3 days?"
Yeah well, it's hard, man.
"It's the introduction book..."
Look, programming isn't for me.

Every time. So no OP, I won't waste my time giving you 15 minutes of my day to make you the perfect list of books you won't read and projects you won't create. FOAD. Google that.

Tl;dr install Gentoo

how much of a big difference is it? it looks more complicated so im afraid i might accidentally allow shit i don't want. been thinking of switching to ublock
10 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
You can also just use ublock origin by itself to block ads, requests, and scripts, that's what I do. If umatrix supported ad filters I'd probably only use that though. I hate having to mess with two extensions to unbreak stuff.
>>
ublock also supports importing requestpolicy filters so you don't have to restart from square one.
>>
>>54729483
well is ublock origin abp with install the addon, sub to w/e filters and then move on?

So /g/, I know headphone threads are very popular and there are various guides to buying headphones. But why is there not the same for speakers? I'm really in the market for a new set but I have no idea where to start, except knowing I just want 2.1.
