Why is micro USB such shit? Every single micro USB cable I've owned has stopped charging properly or just falls out of the port on my phone. I bought an xbox one controller for my pc, and I can't even use it after barely a month of use, cause the fucking micro USB connector cuts out constantly if it isn't held at just the right angle, making the controller disconnect. Is there a single decent micro USB cable on the market?

It scales better than the other two, can allow for isomorphic sites, and has more developers on it currently, so you have access to more (in quality and quantity) modern packages and better support from the crowd.

I'm trying to figure out if my WRT54G is limiting my gaming performance.

I'm using it to directly connect to my PS4 to play Destiny (not wifi)

Just looked on the front and noticed it's actually a WRT54GS.

Would you pay for unmetered but throttled mobile internet?

For example imagine a company offered 1Mbps for $40, 2Mbps for $60, 4Mbps for $80, and 8Mbps for $100. All plans would also include unmetered mobile hotspot + unliminted calling/texting.

In theory these speeds running for 12 hours a day/31 days a month would let you download:

~160GB for 1Mbps

~320GB for 2Mbps

~640GB for 4Mbps

~1280GB for 8Mbps

Would such a service even be possible to maintain?

>>
Seems pretty fair, I would pay for that. The 1 Mbps plan would be more than enough for me. Even 360p youtube video streams are like 500 kbps so 1 Mbps isn't really that bad.

This would put comcast on suicide watch though. They have like a 250GB data cap. They would sperg out and try to sue the loving fuck out of this company though.
>>
>>51437410
Comcast is probably paying mobile carriers to not do this.
>>
As much as I love "muh speed" I would rather pay for unmetered internet. $100 for 8mbps for unmetered mobile hotspot sounds like a dam good deal to me.

/g/ I need some help. Right now I have some pleb-tier headphones, old as fuck and also very cheap. So I want to get some new ones, and I can't decide between Audio Technica M30X and M40X and Kingston HyperX Cloud 2. What do you recommend?

Neither, buy Gentoo headphones
>>
Get the m40x's, why wouldn't you buy audio equipment from an actual & reputable audio company.
>>
>>51437130
If you're looking in that price range I'd actually go for Sennheiser hd280 pros. I love my ath m50s but Sennheiser has them beat for $80-100 imho.

Here's an idea, /g/
>full disk encryption with dm-crypt/luks
>backup the luks header to a file
>replace the luks header in the disk with random data
>write a custom program inside initramfs to automatically download the header file from the internet and unlock the drive with it upon boot
>Even if the header is compromised, it doesn't mean shit because you still have to provide the password
>In an event that your computer gets raided by fbi, all you have to do is remove the header file from your sftp server to render all your disk inaccessible forever
>setup an automatic kill switch to remove the header in case you get arrested

There is no way to prove that the device is encrypted and not erased with random data, so they can't force you to cough up the password.

How delusional am I /g/?

you cannot give up your password if the data will incriminate you

as long as it's not secured with a biometric password

Run it in a VM or from a usb stick.

Lets have a careers thread. It'll be fun to see what type of people post on /g/.

What are you currently doing (work or studying)?
What are you plans for the next few years?
What's shit about everyone else's plans in the threads?
Any advice for others? (fuck anyone who says that goes on /adv/, it's a shit board that's 99% people bitching about relationships).

For me:
Currently in the first year of an integrated Master's course at a Russell Group uni in the UK, in 4 years I'll have a Masters in Maths.
My main plan is to get an actuarial internship in the second year of my degree, and then do a research project thing between my third and fourth, and then choose at the end of the degree whether to go the PhD research route or the actuarial route (currently, I'd say the prior).
The advice I'd give for other maths students is to watch out for the lies you're being told. It's a fucking lie when people say that maths grads (without engineering qualifications) can get into engineering, for more maths careers stuff, see >>>/adv/16479279
