How well does your phone play 60fps YouTube videos?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 and it stutters when playing 60fps content. It's pretty disappointing given the phone's specifications. I hope this is a software issue and not with the phone itself. Rubbish.

Works perfectly on my m8 gpe and n7
>>
I have a note 3 it plays amazingly.
>>

Seeing as that's a previous generation device, the S6/Note 4 should outperform it without a problem.

I think there might be something wrong with my phone, though I'd like to know other people's experience with YouTube, specifically on the S6.

Is this normal or is my web browser infected?

When i load random sites at the bottom left corner of google chrome i see it establishing a secure connection but then it loads youtube facebook and other types of sites then it goes to the site i opened. It does it really fast. Saw it load bluekai which is a virus i think that logs all your activity of your browser. Not to mention it has been acting weird lately and running really slow.

This is a pirated copy of windows from kickass most seeded windows 7 torrent. Verified and comments say it is clean so im not sure what to believe.

What music player do you use /g/? I usually use cmus but i've recently discovered youtube-dl to get the audio from youtube videos. Problem is they download into .m4a format. Which cmus doesn't recognize and it seems like a pain to convert all of them to .mp3 on ubuntu15.10. any suggestions.

>>
>man youtube-dl
youtube-dl can download in mp3. I think the flag is --format mp3.
>>
>>51429461
Cross-encoding is not recommended, since it destroys the audio. The files are .m4a (AAC) because the videos they're ripped from are .mp4. Youtube also has webm, which uses vorbis. You could force youtube-dl to download that format instead to avoid reencoding.

For no generation loss (vorbis only):
$ youtube-dl <url> -x -f webm
$ cmus <file>.ogg

For generation loss (but with whatever format you want):
$ youtube <url> -x -f bestaudio --format mp3
$ cmus <file>.mp3

The cmus issue with AAC seems to be caused by a bug, by the way. Try updating it or install the git version.

should be

Could you tell me, if you listen closely to the front of your radiator, do you hear that "humming" silent low-pitch noise?

Of course your surroundings have to be free of noise.

During the late 1990s and early 2000s, Internet Explorer was the favorite browser of web developers. It beat Netscape at its job and Microsoft implemented a lot of nifty stuff that attracted people to the browser. Web developers, IT guys, etc. all praised it and even dared to say that they did not care about any other browser.

Microsoft had its fair share of irresponsibility by not updating IE significantly for years but why aren't web developers held accountable as well? After all, their job is to use web standards wherever possible and they failed to do that. The IE hell was caused by them. As a matter of fact, they're still doing this by making everything about WebKit and/or Blink.

Should HTML go back to its roots? CSS is neat and is not all that bad but it should be kept to a minimum. Should things like JavaScript be banned?

>Should HTML go back to its roots?
I'd support this. Let the client decide how to display the content it's given.
>>
Web developers have always been fuccbois. I remember always getting told "well you shouldn't be using that browser because (subjective bullshit)" when I complain about how their site doesn't work, so I don't even bother with them anymore.

>Last line

I predict that there will be a strong push back against this sort of 'tech progressivism' though, and embracing the older and simpler technologies like static HTML webpages and conservative use of javascript/CSS.
>>
I remember when Flash was new. I made so much cash with that shit. Back then, being a web dev was profitable, now those idiots are literally slaves
