To be honest, I don't like the idea of tech companies building cars. Most of these people don't even drive.
To be honest, I don't like the idea of doctors healing people. Most of these people don't even have diseases.
To be honest, I don't like the idea of people attempting to improve others' quality of life. Most of these people were never really alive in the first place.
So I am potentially applying to join the Intelligence wing of the Royal Air Force as an Officer. Is this /g/? Will I get a good idea of specific military grade computer systems and be technically proficient in a way that will potentially secure me security/tech related civilian jobs when I come out of the forces?
Has anybody here had any military experience in a similar supportive role? How does it relate to /g/ fields of interest?

I can't decide between pic related and the one that Visual studio dark looks like.
The only thing that bothers me is that VS dark is mostly blue and white, while spacegray has more colors for different elements in code so it makes it I guess more readable.
I wish there is VS dark theme with just a little bit more coloring although I am fucking in love with that blue/white on dark bckg.

Many new phones are coming out WITHOUT a 3,5mm jack, meanwhile most people use 3,5mm headphones every day.
Some might argue for the benefits of usb headphones, but that is not relevant. Firstly - they are minimal, but most importantly it's not a reason to take away the choice and complicate most peoples lives with adapters and not being able to charge while using a cable.
The true question is, 3,5mm vs. thinner phone. This cannot be stressed enough. Do you think taking away the 3,5mm jack for the practically indefensible but very fashionable thinner phone? Keep in mind, anything beyond ~1mm thinner than currently is just compromising with other components like battery.

Making the phones thinner and thinner at the expense of functionality and battery life is bullshit.
Battery technology is improving but phones aren't lasting any longer and sometimes even dying sooner because for every improvement in battery tech, they make the phone thinner and the battery smaller.
This consumerist bullshit has to stop. Who fucking cares how thin your phone is?
Just don't buy a phone that doesn't have one.

How hot should a laptop i7 run? I bought a new lenovo y500 (its unused, one of the last pieces produced was lying about in a warehouse the past year or two, vendor is reliable did business with him before) and its Intel Core i7 3630QM was running as hot as 65C idling which spiralled my assburgers. Turned out it was a windows 8 shitty update process hogging the processor power turned it off
Now its around 48-55 with light browsing and steam downloading
