Anyone know what the "Harassment Incerceptor App" Is on android?
I'm fairly certain my friends information is being intercepted and apps are taking strange unchangeable permissions.
Ever heard of it?

What services do you run/delegate to these things to justify their small but constant power usage?

I use a old laptop for SSH/VPN

everything else I run needs something beefier than a passively cooled arm chip

I kind of want to create some kind of 2 factor authentication for my mail VPS that doesn't rely on gugel botnet, but I imagine that's going to be a lot of work.

Why did you hate OCZ so?
10 posts and 2 images submitted.

Shitty unreliable controllers.

Abysmal failure rates in their later drives.

When you RMA some bad drives and 3/5 of them come back bad from factory, it's time to bail.

Using OCZ was like fucking a disabled hooker bareback.

Hey 4chins.

So I work for South Africa's most unscrupulous and shitty bank as a test analyst. They gave me an ultimatum, learn java and get a qualification before end of august, or gtfo. So I have 2 questions:

1: is it possible? If so, where/how?
2: is it worth it? And if not, which country can I emigrate to easily from this shit hole as a muslim?

Seriously, everything in this country is shit. Especially the green ones.

Thank you kind sir. I shall get started immediately then. Codeacademy helps, no?

Hello /g/entoomen,

In Dropbox, if I created a zip archive of 100MB, it 10mo backup. If I add 10 MB file in the archive, it will add 10 mo and send these 10mo there, it will not save 110MB again.

What do we call this technology?

Dropbox uses a binary diff algorithm to break down all files into blocks, and only upload blocks that it doesn't already have in the cloud. All of this is done locally on your computer.

Dropbox doesn't just use your files that you have already uploaded, it aggregates everyone's files into one database of blocks, and checks each local block hash against that database.

This means that if someone else has uploaded the same file as yourself (say for example, the latest Ubuntu ISO), then the upload will seem instant as there is nothing to upload, but if you are updating a file that changes regularly, like your backup file, then only the changes are uploaded. If you upload a totally unique file, then you have to wait for it all to upload.

Ok i see...
And this technologie are used by some self hosted cloud solutions like Pydio or OwnCloud ?

Why don't the last modification time of my files of my external backup drive match the original's?
Doesn't matter whether I copy them in Windows Explorer, Putty, rsync or whatever. Local drive is NTFS backup drive is ZFS.

The fuck happened to Paypal? Half of the links in Google are broken, adding email accounts is broken, creating donate buttons is broken as well. I lost 2 customers last month because I couldn't set up their stores and they didn't want to use stripe. I've called customer support 3 times already and they only answer with evasives.

When will the monopoly of Paypal on internet payments fucking end?

So /g/ - how do you plan out design for a non-trivial piece of software?

Do you go full UML or just think of the basic pieces and dig in? I have scrapped a few projects because of what a terrible spaghetti mess they became.

I'm a girl btw

At work we draw up a conceptual diagram that could be called similar to UML, on the whiteboard. Not like actually defining classes and members, just "we're going to write this piece of software, it will communicate with these other softwares with some XML that looks like x, it takes inputs from y, and it will store its data via mechanism z"

Then we just go write the C++ and see if it works.

>spaghetti mess
Avoiding this comes with experience and skill.

>I'm a girl btw

stfu and fuck off
>>
>>55296331

This sounds like 90% of software development. It's either waterfall or agile model based with UML style diagrams outlining components and data/code flow.
>>
>>55296047
Flowchart major logic. UI sketched in a notebook. Built core application, test, code review. Debug. Build error checking. Build UI. Code review.

Once item is solid, features are added and tested. It's slower than agile, but build master and gated check ins are the way to go imho.
