cyber security and general hacking thread and story time :)

hey guys, i was browsing the internet a couple months ago and came across penetration testing, really interesting stuff, so i was like, " lets get a kali linux copy to hack the school!", so i get the copy and use it in school, so fckn interesting, so much stuff, i was overwhelmed by the amount of stuff, i started with metasploit, tried to exploit BASICALY USING NO FUCKING LHOST OR RHOST OR EVEN A NETWORK ANTENNA FOR PACKET SNIFFING, i just went directly to exploit, of course by now i was like fuck, i knew it wasnt this easy lol, so i read more about it and found out its reeeeeeeeeealy hard, so now i got really into it, bought a few books on pentesting, metasploit and the infamous PHB2 plus a rasberry pi to make a pentest machine, im starting tomorrow with everything, btw to all that think im doing this to hack some stupid facebook or gmail to get nudes or fuck with people in school, your wrong(even tho my intentions in the begining were very clearly stated i changed just by knowing that its not a crime, its a graceful but brute art), i am passionate about it because it looks like a promising area in security exploitation, well any thoughts on the matter, post your initial experiences with code and hacking, i would love to hear it!, and another note: if your gonna talk about booters, DDOS, password cracking tools, please dont even take your worthless time to comment

You talk so much about programming, but you cant talk about hacking because you cant actually do anything. I run a hacked network of computers that I programmed to click on googles ads in my secret website. I even write my own viruses to make people get hacked into my network. I work at home and have a bunch of screens showing me what people on my network are doing on their screens. I can even set it so that i can see the code of their computers. can you guys do any of that? I dont think so. I bet you dont know where all the websites real hackers hang out are either? if you name them, I just might tell them that marshviperX sent you.

Copypasta you cuck.

>>53419982
uh. ok?, first of all i never said i could hack, having ambition to become a pentester is not kowing anything, i asked for help and opinion, im not trying to show off like you are doing, i want to invest ina good thing, if this is the way the community greets me, i dont believe this is for me then

I was looking into getting a new phone for my birthday (by "new" I mean new to me, not new-new)

I'm tired of the S3 mini meme. I love Samsung Galaxys, seriously the best phones I've owned, but I was wondering if there was something cheaper/better that has a big screen other than a note?

What would you suggest? Budget is flexible

Give a chinkphone a try.
Ulephone power has a 6000mah battery, it'll last a week for a light user at.

What are some good ear buds for around $25?

It really depends on what your looking for. I wanted inline controls, a mic, a cord that didn't constantly tangle, comfortability and decent sound quality. Oddly enough these douchey things are pretty great: http://www.skullcandy.com/earbuds/INKD2.html?Quantity=1&color=Black%20w/Mic1

About a month in I dropped them in some soup because I'm a faggot and they still work great 2 months later.

These are also pretty nice but I had to return two pairs because they were both faulty: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/ya/ref=yo_ii_bia_view?ie=UTF8&ac=bia&reorder_params=B011TONXUE%2C114-4947501-1383456

The first had a busted mic and the second had a lose cable by the driver housing that constantly rattled. Can't really recommend them.

I fell for the mechanical gaming keyboard meme and bought a k95 for $95. I don't even have it yet and I'm already experiencing buyer's remorse.

You seem to fall for every meme. I hear Reddit is a veritable meme factory. Maybe you should haul your meme loving ass over there.

Let's talk about systemd /g/.

Almost all major linux distros had adopted it, and clearly everything is going fine, despite the naysayers. Can we all agree now that the dust has settled that there is nothing wrong with it?

Hey /g/ I built a PC today, and it all went smoothly until I was trying to install an OS, a prompt told me to reboot pc with an OS disc or something along the lines of that, so I put the disc in and turned off my PC, after turning it back on, there's now no image showing up... Did I fuck up?

well, if you built it, and you were installing an os which failed, you have nothing to fuck up, do you?
no idea what the problem is but properly burn a fucking .iso to a flash or dvd and select your boot devices properly through the bios.
a more in-depth description would also help if you've done the above.

I have a windows 10 disc, the only problem is that I can't see anything on my monitor

When I try to install screenfetch with yaourt, I get this error:

[alan@alanbarnett ~]$ sudo yaourt -S screenfetch

That repeats itself like 7 times. This happens with a few things I've tried to install (for example, last time I tried to use arch, I couldn't install gnome or yaourt because of that so I started over, and here I am). Have you guys had that problem? I've tried damn near everything on the forums.

Any /g/ents heard of wire?
It's meant as a replacement for whatsapp, skype, facebook, etc, etc. It's end to end encryption is why I want to try it, also group chats support up to 128 people.
