Why did the Blu Ray drives failed on PC? At this rate there won't be any retail PC games left.

Piracy stole all it's sales.

Because they cost as much as a standalone blu-ray player and retards never thought to make one that only plays blu-rays rather than write/rewrite them.
>>
Downloading stuff is so much more convenient and anyone that wants to use physical copies of games plays on console anyways.

After reading about Win10's datamining, I've been looking into alternatives. Has anyone here had experience with ReactOS? Was it what you expected?

if you have Windows XP era driver it's a solution
>>
>>54954308
I played around with it a little bit, to see if I could run some stuff we use at work on it instead of continuing with a now-unsupported Windows XP. (Boss is being cheap and won't spring for a newer OS on existing machines, never mind new machines.)

Some of the prerequisites (.NET and/or some other framework) refuse to install because, as far as it can tell, Automatic Updates aren't turned on. If ReactOS can more convincingly tell software running on it A) that it's Windows, and B) things like those update and security settings are what they need, it'll start to be a little more useful. But until then, either live with Windows or use Linux.

Nope. Can't take car through narrow streets of pre-car cities.

Sell me on your mITX case of choice. I've decided to downsize as I travel quite a bit.

I am planning on getting the RX 480 if AMD isn't lying about the power consumption. So it would need to fit that.

I currently have a CM Hyper 212+, but can go to a stock or low profile cooler if necessary to fit case. I don't OC my CPU at all anymore really.

Welcome to /fglt/. We are always open to users of all levels, including absolute beginners.

There are four ways to try GNU/Linux, you can:

0) Install a GNU/Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
1) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full GNU/Linux experience".
2) Dual-boot GNU/Linux with Windows/Mac (recommended if you want to learn more about GNU/Linux)
3) Go balls deep and overwrite everything with GNU/Linux

Before asking, please search for answers to your questions in resources.

Please be civil, notice the "Friendly" in every Friendly GNU/Linux Thread.

Understand that much of your software from Windows will be unavailable, although maybe WINE can make up for it.

IRC connection details:
Server: chat.freenode.net:6667 (no SSL, 6697 for SSL) - Channel: #flt
If you don't have an IRC client (which you should), go to https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.freenode.net/flt to use IRC on a web client.

Learning Vim recently. Tried Emacs, but the keyboard shortcuts didn't really appeal to me the way Vims do.

It is a shallow reason for picking one editor over another b/c the keys can be mapped to whatever you want.

Honestly, both are so customizable at this point they are basically equal in power. The editor wars of the early 90s are basically over and it resulted in a stalemate.

Why hasn't 4chan adopted WebP yet?

It seems like a very good image format now widely support by almost all browsers. It supports lossy encoding, transparency, animation, and even lossless encoding. Why would 4chan NOT adopt this image format?

Are there fees that I don't know about that 4chan must pay to WebP creators or something that I don't know about?
