So, other Shells exist. Take the wonderous zsh, or the cozy fish-shell as examples.
Does anyone actually do shell scripting in any shell that isn't either a dialect of the standard Unix shell or Bash? I can't say I've ever seen anyone ever write or use a zsh or fish-shell script before, much less use it for anything but personal use.
Does anyone do scripting in alternative shells?
Nobody uses these outside of a few fringe circles, and certainly nobody tries to release scripts for non-bash shells.

I wonder why the developers even bother putting effort into their shell's scripting capabilities if nobody's going to even end-up using it. Is it because writing a language is butt-easy easy these days? And is that why every hipster I know mentions the word "lexer and token analyzer" at least once per day?

Looking for a smartphone with the best possible camera for around up to 400 Euros.
What are my options?
Currently thinking of the Nexus 5x and Moto X Play/Style.
The lack of optical image stabilisation, average battery life and plastic build seem to be the only negative aspects of the 5x.
I could always cover up the plastic build with a nice case - anyone got any decent for the 5x by any chance?
Also saw that you can tool around with the software and enable EIS on it - which improves the video quality a lil bit - but strips you of the warranty.
Can't say much about the two you're considering , but when I was trying to make that same decision a few months ago, I went for a LG G4. Lots of manual control (if you're into it), RAW shooting, and the best camera on a smartphone I have ever owned. The 5X was my second choice, but it wasn't available in my country at the time.
Looking at some comparison pictures from GSM Arena, the 5X pictures seem to be a bit less grainy and sharper than the Moto X Play, and pretty similar to the G4 (and G5 for that matter). From those two I'd go with the 5X,...

Yo, /g/, what's the best way to minimize buzz/hiss interference when using onboard sound? Just upgraded my shit (Core i7-6700K on a Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 board), and suddenly I've got way more than on my old setup for some reason. Tried switching between front panel (makes an ungodly noise) and back panel (makes a buzzy hum, more pronounced when playing games). Assuming it's something to do with board-level interference, where would I go about starting to track that down?

looking for a good quality laptop. i don't need a graphics card, but would like something that is decently fast and has a nice battery life
i've seen the specs of zenbooks (like the ASUS Zenbook UX303UB-DH74T) and they look good. is there anything wrong with these laptops?
laptop will be used for "getting things done" for coding and web development. basically a way to not procrastinate. as my desktop has games and firefox (i have 500 tabs open right now, it's a serious problem, another 100 tabs in chrome)

The thing is with PGA, neither of them break. If a heat spreader gets glue to a heat sink the locking arm isn't holding onto the pins with enough tension to unseat them from the package. The CPU will lift straight out of the socket with enough force.
Its easier heating up the heat sink with a hair dryer and removing a stuck CPU than it is dealing with a bent locking mechanism on an LGA board.

Can some explain to me the strong and irrational emotional responses generated by simple consumer products, be it AMD, Apple, Intel, Linux, Microsoft, Nvidia that people on this board seem to produce?
