This makes me moist...

>recently promoted to information technology manager
>having quarterly technology panel meeting
>room full of men and women who are in charge of technology but know nothing about it
>they ask if there's anything we need to change at this point
>say that we need to relicense our software as MIT to avoid viral software issues and legal conflicts
>they seem concerned, ask what I mean
>explain to them about the GPL, including how we have to "waste disk space" including the license header on every file
>they ponder it for a few moments, then say to go ahead and change it ASAP
>all of the technology staff who generally say "GNU/Linux" out loud are visibly angry when I go back to tell them to remove the GPL license text from every source file and just throw the MIT license in the root

Feels good to be in charge.

I can understand using MIT as an individual, but a corporation using MIT is just letting other companies take your source code without attribution.

Fucking cuck.
I bet you feel real smart now, huh?
>>
>>54967496
It doesn't mean that at all. The code will never be distributed outside our walls.

What it does mean is that if the company ever goes out of business, all of the work I put into it goes into the wild and the GPL won't have its slobber all over it.
>>
Why the fuck would you remove the GPL?
Makes no sense. Your move served no purpose at all.

This. I can boot into Windows at 5.2GHz on my 6700K and take a picture of CPU-Z. It of course BSODs the second it's asked to do anything more complex than that.
>>
>>54967264
I've gotten 4.7ghz on my i7 870, but when I try to open cpuz windows crashes.

I can open cpuz at 4.4ghz, but it's only stable for real use at 4.2ghz or below.

So yes, OP is a faggot today.

I'm about to upgrade my fuck-around laptop to Linux. I'm looking for a distro that won't sell my info to lizard people but still has good usability and features.

I was looking at Kali or Backtrack because they seem to have tools that will be useful.
What does /g/ suggest?

Kali, which is basically a new version of Backtrack, is mostly for security and pen-testing.
If you're new to Linux, start with something like Ubuntu (Lubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu - they are all good) or Linux Mint to get the hang of it.
Then move to a more advanced distro like Debian for general-purposes or more specific ones like Kali.

It has tracking. I live in a very small town and the end point on tracking is my local sketchy USPS. Guess I can't order shoes online anymore.

...supposedly they were working on some revolutionaly heavy fusion technology back in the '70/'80 and their work got ditched. Could not find anything remotely interesting with google. Can you help a guy out?

WTH is going on, cannot find a single paper about them, maybe there's a typo in the name or sth.? Looks like some creepy mystery to me :/

You mean perfectly useless. They don't ship enough packages, the documentation is piss poor and when all is said and done you end up installing a bunch of stuff manually from source anyway because of this.

Who cares if there are user-supported repos if it's such a burden to figure out where they are what they are? I could scrape the forums, but if I were Joe F. Retard I wouldn't waste my time there.

No, Ubuntu and its derivatives still hold the best OOBE title because the sperglord maintainers are all properly pacified and Canonical realizes the first thing anyone is going to do is try to install something new.

Hey guys, any Googlers here?
I have two Google interviews (post recruiter meet'n greet) coming up and I wanted to snag as much advice as I could.

First interview is for the run of the mill Java dev position. All I know about it so far is that it's literally ground up from requirements gathering to post-launch maintenance.

Second interview is for an ads solution engineer position. I have zero information on this position besides that it's probably for google ads words work.

How badly did I fuck up by buying an unlocked Intel Core i5, which is missing the Intel VT-d feature?

How much are my VMs suffering from this?
Will they survive the winter?

And also, is it true that the Core i5 locked and unlocked models are 1:1 identical at the transistor level, with one of the very few differences being that Intel flipped a "dis shit be unlocked" bit somewhere on the die - and for which they greedily marked it up by $30?

Yes.

And yes. There's no hardware reason why non-K chips can't overclock (as seen in the recent Skylake non-K overclocking unlocked by motherboard manufacturers). They're just prevented from doing so because Intel are the biggest kikes around.
>>
You're only missing out on passthrough pretty much, but I've seen memes about it on tumblr.

Should have gone with an FX 8 core if you needed to do virtual machine work
