What should I make for my 1st year CE project course? We are supposed to come up with a project of our choice, code and present it. The deadline is in 2 months.

sourcing project ideas from a nepalese pottery forum is a really bad idea. do yourself and your team a favor and force yourselves to do your own brainstorming.

Nah.
I found an old lcd tv out by the road.
Took out the speaker, want to make my own portable boombox.
5w 12ohm iirc, that's why I got the 10w amp.

Also have a lot of spare 18650s to toss in for amazing battery life.

>>52189349
Oh solid, that'll be cool. What kind of enclosure are you planning on putting it all in?

>Apple still put 16:10 displays in their laptops

Why are Apple so based?
25 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
Why are black bars so based? 16:9 is the industry standard hipster.
>>
>>52188853

Apple is actually good at a lot of things, and has lots of practices that are positive.

I still hesitate to buy anything from them, however.
>>
>>52188864
No its not. 16:9 is consumer standard. The industry still uses 16:10.

why is this allowed?
>Been using Mint for years, system WANTS me to update the perfectly working drivers or some shit - yeah ! go ahead i don't care.

>comes back with a fucked driver.
>try everything
>look at the fucking time
Why do they force users to use actual "free" drivers when the old nvidia proprietary was perfect ? (but removed... support claims
>"it was obsolete anyways"
"but muh fanless 7300GT is all I need to watch webpages and spinnan cu-"
>"hurf a derpf no wonder you and your CRT (eh, it's a LCD ackshually...) we dont support grandpa's obsolete hardware, if you cannot afford something newer you can fuck off"

Nvidia declared it legacy and stopped supporting it in the official driver on newer kernels. With AMD that's not such a big deal because by the time a card is declared legacy the open drivers work better than the proprietary drivers, and Intel makes everything open source from day one.

There's a reason Linus Torvalds did his "fuck you, Nvidia!" rant a few years back.
>>
>>52188816
Proprietary drivers are just fucked up and for obvious reasons, flaws in most cases they are just nono on most distros.

Just go buy an AMD GPU if you <<"NEED">> a 1600x1200 on a >20 inches square monitor.
Also check the documentation there should be a screen scaling function.
>>
>it's nVidia's fault for stuff done by the Linux team
>buy a new GPU
When did /g/ become like this. OP install the old driver from either the repository or nVidia's website.

Stallman is a legit creep. In before PIDF.

is there a Spotlight alternative for Android?

> I don't want to search the web (ALWAYS ON)
> I don't want web history (ALWAYS ON)

I used Nova's app search shortcut with "Home Launcher", but now I am trying to use the Google Now and Action Launchers.
Nova was able to only search apps, contacts would be a nice addition to this.

Basically I want Spotlight on Android..?

I have a VHS tape I need converted into an MKV for archival purposes. What would be the very best, & clearest way to do this?

Anyone here ever tried?
28 posts and 5 images submitted.
>>
I used to do that by copying them on a DVD then importing the DVD. I don't remember what they're called but it's like a dvd player that also has a VHS slot and can copy from VHS to DVD.
>>
>>52188124

I suppose I could default to that, but these are old fairly videos so I need them to be as clear as possible. Looking back, I really should have recorded these on Beta, but there's nothing I can do about that.
>>
>>52188091
find a s-vhs player and capture card.
The s-vhs player will have and s-video output to the capture card.
