Hi /g/,
I don't usually post on here and I know this sort of thread is probably posted all the time but I'd looking or some advice on upgrading my current build. Used for gaming and developing.
OS: Windows 7
CPU: AMD FX-4300 quad core 3.8GHz
RAM: 8GB on 2 x 4GB sticks
GPU: GTX 960
PSU: Corsair 550w
Medium size tower
2TB HDD
I also have some spare parts that I haven't put in yet:
1 AMD Bulldozer 8 core
1 GTX 660
4 4GB RAM sticks
1 Corsair 1000w
That cheap corsair liquid CPU cooler (can't remember the name)

why the fuck did you buy a 960 qq
sell the 960, sell the 660, sell the 8 gb ram, sell the 4300, sell the external sound card unless you're making music
you could get any gpu you wan't with that budget
Stop buying dumb shit.
>implying I bought it
Do you have any actual advice?

Should have bought gentle typhoons for the CPU heatsink. Also, G. Skill is a better choice for RAM imo. Other than that it looks good.

7/10
Big case for a small motherboard, disconnected optical, and a few cable routes I would have done differently.
Overall it's nice and a respectable build.
Porco dio.
I believed that network security is a meme after a certain degree. i believed that i've nothing to fear, as long as i have strong password and i don't leave it around. I secured my home with the same things everybody use, a WPA2, a strong WPA2 with no words related to me or my family. Today i launched a network scan via windows, i should have found my 3 computer and my nas, but instead the screen was full of connected computers. i immediately changed my password, but i thought it was an error in the network scan in windows. however just in case i started...

>>51269458
now while raging i just disconnected that shit from the wall and i will probably just make it explode during the next new year's eve, anyway i clearly remember that while i was setting it up i haven't seen a fucking setting in the menu, and IT DOESN'T HAVE A WPS BUTTON fuck this, it should be clear if an AP has the wps function, it's a fucking flaw everyone knows
>requires access to the camera
>requires access to contacts
>requires access to the sd card
>requires access to network connections

All I wanted was a sound recorder app.

I recently purchased some led light bulbs and I noticed something strange about them...particularly that they have a small pinhole on the face of the bulb, What are the chances this is a microphone or camera? They were made in china.
>>51268861
Better the chinks than the nsa
>>51268861
> What are the chances this is a microphone or camera?
Literally zero. Thats an index for the the PCB to seat properly on the aluminum disc heat sink under it.
>>51268861
What the fuck are they going to do, stick a 4g chip into every bulb and connect to some Chinese cell towers that they magically erected all over the US?
considering getting these, what does /g/ think? do they have them?
speakers don't really matter imo
all about headphones
i have logitech z313's but they're sitting in the corner of my room collecting dust. sounds like speakers
The Klipsch 2.1 system is nice and reasonably priced.
Or just get a pair of Mackie CR4 if you want monitors
friend has these and they are pretty good but im sure you can find better if you go for an actual audio company not corsair

Is the X220 good enough to last 4 years of university?
>>51268531
Yes
>>51268633
What about compared to a T420?
>>51268669
The only thing that might be convenient about a 420 is the CD / DVD drive. X220 has none. But it's lighter. Clear trade off. I'd opt for a t420 but I already have an x220 so I just have a USB disc drive.

Thinking of picking up a new phone and the Sony Z5 seems perfect.
Does it have a flaw other than Heatdragon 810?
Nope, but if that's your main concern you can go for a Z3
I dont know the z5 but with my z3 i nust use manual settings for the photos otherwise with auto i get shitty blurry, abysmal results
Z3 Compact master race
Name one objectively bad thing about Ubuntu after disabling web search.
Hint: Not being able to create an ultra minimalist anime desktop is not a reason.
Bloat.

after configuring apt-get to avoid installed recommended packages, there are no reasons.
this is how you do it, btw:
/etc/apt/apt.confAPT::Install-Recommends "false";
APT::Install-Suggests "false";
Acquire::Languages { "none"; };
