IPFS general - threads keep dying edition.
We got shitloads of roms across many platforms now, neat!
What is IPFS?
A fully decentralized, distributed and encrypted file distribution platform.
>why would one use it
* Distributed and decentralized: no single point of failure, censorship-resistant.
* You can have a mutable address (i.e. always points to the latest version of a site), or a static address (points to a specific file). Yes, you can host sites over IPFS.
* Peers are found fast for new downloads. You don't need to wait that much to start a download.
* You can watch your animu while it downloads, I watched few episodes that way and it didn't even buffer.

(over ipfs)
>how to upload a single file
$ ipfs add ./$file
Access it at localhost:8080/ipfs/$outputted-hash
>how to upload a dir
$ ipfs add -r ./$dir
Access it at localhost:8080/ipfs/$last-outputted-hash
>how to make the thing mutable
$ ipfs name publish ./$file-or-dir-hash
Access it at localhost:8080/ipns/$output-hash-aka-peerid (it's ipNs not ipFs)
To update, publish another hash and it will be available at the same IPNS address.

You're supposed to put an ipfs url after gateway.ipfs.io/, noob. Such as
gateway.ipfs.io/ipns/gindex.dynu.com/

Ok so i've got it working with just

Any good silent mouses out there? Most of the ones I find are pretty shit
I've just bought a Kana V2, feels pretty great.
Got tired of my Razer Deathadder 2013's rubber bumps falling off constantly, and it started to really jitter.

>falls out when I lean back
>reaffix with some more duct tape
5 years later
>legs are getting wobbly
>one gives out, chair leans obtusely
>use some duct tape to put it back on chair
> all the legs break eventually, put em back on with duct tape
10 years later
>still using the same chair.
>duct tape all over the place
>legs have broken again and again into smaller and smaller pieces
>don't want to buy a new chair, cushion is still comfy
>cushion rips
so /g/ what are some good computer chairs?
>>51580343
Apparently one made out of duct tape and whatever cushion you are using.
I would really like to know what cusion could last ten years. 6 months, a year max and my cushion becomes all flat.
>>51580404
it was a good cushion
>go into staples or the equivalent in your area
>sit in all of them for a few minutes

computer tech seemed to evolve faster and faster from 16 to 32 and then to 64 bit but now we seemed to hit a wall? why is there no talk about 128 bit processors? have we reached the limit ? imagine what we could do with 128 bit processors. ..
128 bit processors could become self-conscious maybe.
>>51580182
Bait? We are far, far away from using the memory bandwidth 64 bit gives us.
>>51580182
I have two questions : Do you know what the number of bits means?
If your answer to the previous question was yes : Why the heck would you want a 128-bit processor?
>No Ethernet
LOL'ed hard to this.
>>51580091
Why does a logger need ethernet?
Why does a LED vu meter need ethernet?
Why does a ... need ethernet?
You don't want to build these? Then this board is not for you.
>>51580091
That is not even the kekest of keks. It has no PS/2 so you can't use mice or keyboards, and it has no parallel or serial ports so you can't use printers or cameras.
There's not even a fucking floppy connector.
Who is this thing even for?
>>51580091
>he thinks the pi's main use is for building shitty nas or htpc imitations.
what type of person actually does that?
>>51580067
Of course not. Early on I developed a blind spot for ads. I almost stopped noticing them until I started using ad blockers.
>>51580667
last add i saw was on a new build launching a browser for the first time
>>51580067
AdBlockers exists since 2006 gramps
What ads are you talking about?
We have oled phones, oled tvs and oled lighting but where the fuck are the oled monitors? I just want a 21:9 3440x1440 oled monitor. just saying
I though OLED was more for a cinematic experience?
>>51579752
Probably too expensive still.
>>51579916
OLED is a display technology like LCD.
my oled vita has ridiculous ghosting. mostly noticable in persona 4. did I just get a lemon or are they all like this
Guys... at what point did it all go so wrong?

As you can see, it's a mid-range setup with not extra fancy components but not all arround cheapest shit available.

/g/s thoughts on signal ?
https://whispersystems.org/
It's great, secure, user-friendly free software. But it has one fatal flaw; it only functions on a phone with Google play services, you can't use it if you want your phone liberated and/or de-googled. Very unfortunate.
Great but noone uses it
dumb gapps dependency.
don't give me the crap that it needs for one function. it is enough that i can't even use the app after install because i don't have gapps in my phone.
Intended for users of all levels, including absolute beginners.
There are three ways to try Linux, you can:
1) Install a Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
2) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full Linux experience".
3) Go balls deep and overwrite everything with Linux (not recommended)
If you are serious about switching to Linux and if you have Windows dual-booted (recommended for pure newbies), we recommend you use it exclusively for 2 weeks, and avoid Windows dual booting for that period of time, or it's likely you will start retreating back to windows instead of getting used to Linux as your new home and working onmaking it feel the way you want it.
>Recommended for beginners:
-*buntus except vanilla Ubuntu (Unity)
-Debian (For Broadcom devices, use an ISO that includes non-free firmware)
-openSUSE
-LinuxMint (a.k.a Ubuntu LTS + Cinnamon)

Good question, what is that even supposed to be?
Do you try to organize all your files?
I do but it always gets cluttered up eventually.
>>51578764
I try to make a point to tidy my filesystem once a month or so.
Yes. Everything has a place somewhere. It's easy to stay organised once you start of organised.
