Don't use Manjaro edition.
Intended for users of all levels, including absolute beginners.
There are three ways to try Linux, you can:
1) Install a Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
2) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full Linux experience".
3) Go balls deep and overwrite everything with Linux (not recommended)
If you are serious about switching to Linux and if you have Windows dual-booted (recommended for pure newbies), we recommend you use it exclusively for 2 weeks, and avoid Windows dual booting for that period of time, or it's likely you will start retreating back to windows instead of getting used to Linux as your new home and working onmaking it feel the way you want it.

-*buntus except vanilla Ubuntu (Unity)
-Debian (For Broadcom devices, use an ISO that includes non-free firmware)
-openSUSE
-LinuxMint (a.k.a Ubuntu LTS + Cinnamon)

Understand that much of your software from Windows will be unavailable, although maybe wine can make up for it.

1. Manjaro is a good intro to Arch, never prohibit people to use a distro if you haven't used it.
2. LinuxMint != Ubuntu LTS + Cinnamon; Mint comes with different DEs and there is a Debian derivatives to it.

I remember Corel Linux, which was Debian-based. It was awful, but that wasn't Debian's fault.

Any /g/-approved cheap chinese Android/Windows tablets? I just need something to read textbooks and play hearthstone on. I actually prefer Android tablets, I bought a Teclast Windows tablet last year and Windows on a tablet is kind of hard to use and literally nothing seems optimized.

My mother who know nothing about computers bought me a alienware for Christmas two years ago,and idk if they fucked up but I was supposed to get a NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 970M with 3GB GDDR5,but they fucked up and put in a AMD Radeon R9 M290x and I've just had to deal with it.Now this graphics card is outdated and I can't fucking get a new laptop so I was wondering if it was possible for me to put a new graphics card in and what would you guys think I should put in.I've got now idea when it comes to hardware.Thanks!

Maybe alienware is a small exception but for the most-part, replacing parts on a laptop is a nightmare, or not possible.
The most you can normally replace relatively easily is like a ram stick or a ssd. I dunno about laptop graphics cards, they're probably all tailored to specific laptop models, therefore wouldn't fit into the space you have in the machine when you take yours out.
