/g/entlemen, a question for you.
I wanna buy a new laptop, this are my needs:
- long lasting battery
- nokia's 3310 like durability
- powerful enough to play dwarf fortress (more power for more dwarf/fps the better)
Money is no obstacle, what I should buy?
A dell xps?
Wait for the new macbook pro (and put window 7 in it)
???
A thinkpad?
you want a macbock m8
I recommend macbook retina "12 2015 with 1 usb-c port.
You will also want a wireless usb storage device for your cp, and an iphone to protect your underaged snapchat conversations from the prying eyes of the FBI.
Dell's business class laptops might be the way to go. Both the xps and latitude lines are pretty nice.

Unless you're using Nvida, Open Source drivers for Intel and AMD is fine.

What happens if you feed a bunch of source code (like say, github's database) to a neural net and have it try to generate some novel programs?
>>53586342
It'll probably make better programs than the poo-in-loos
Neural net will also give you a lot of fail mutation.
someone did something kind of similar - a parser that identified common ways of doing various things in Ruby (based on a bunch of public repositories) that worked as an interactive IDE sort of thing
I am trying to work out if it's worth the effort. I have 4 PCs at our home which I can use.
Do you think it can generate enough income to even cover the energy cost?
What if I was only minig when I am using the PC anyway?
Also, would each PC need it's own wallet?
if you didn't buy the machines specifically to mine bitcoins, and if you pay for your electricity, then it's not worth doing it anymore.
Home mining is not profitable AT ALL anymore. ASIC miners have completely taken over the market. Save your electricity and money. It's ogre.

Allright, thanks.
Hat about using a raspberryPi and usb miners to save energy?
Whats the point of using VPN except for getting bigger latency ?
>>53585884
What's the point of visiting /g/ if you are a retard?
It is really useful for getting access to networks you don't want to expose over the internet.
This makes it easy to get access to your local NAS or printer or fridge without being on the network.
You can also use it to mask your location.
Eg you want to make a phone call to another person.
You can set up a phone server on your computer at home, using a vpn from your phone to get access to it and make the call to someone.
Now it will always be a call from your home to that person rather than directly from your phone.

I need to pull up the recording of my work's cameras. I know they record the last 24 hours. Any ideas? I've tried using the TV they're hooked up to, but they're garbage. Can I pull it up on a computer?
Device name is EDVR, QSEE is the software I'm guessing.
Why?
>>53585055
Someone stole a chair from the computer lounge. Not a huge deal but I'm a little pissed and want to know who. I know I won't be blamed, but it was my shift. I'm the only one here.
>>53585088
I can bring up some of the recordings on the TV, but the time notes don't make sense, half the cameras are blank screens, and it's super slow to respond. If I could get it on the computer, I could sift through it better.
What's the point of learning all of this technical and theoretical knowledge if I can't even talk to a girl?
why do you want to talk to a girl?

Why does Google can find me by geolocation even when I use VPN?
>>53703346
Probably because you use the same account you used before you had your vpn.
