Is tesla really that good?

Not gonna lie, but they're pretty good. They're dead quiet apart from wind noise and the very faint motor whine, but they only seem loud because the car is just so quiet. The ride is a little bit hard for my tastes and the handling isn't on par with a BMW 5 series, but it will roast an M5 in a straight line from a standing start.
The build quality is a letdown for the price, though. It's the only real complaint that I'd have if I was going to put down my own money towards owning a Tesla. And the seats aren't the most comfortable, especially the back seats which are too much like a park bench than the nicely bolstered cushions you'd find on an S-Class or even a Hyundai Equus.
>>
I went to a charity event where guys were giving rides in their fancy motors to raise cash for cancer.

First car I got a ride in was an 800hp Audi RS6 and the acceleration was brutal.

Second car I got a ride in was a 600hp Nissan GTR. Which is known for getting the power down and it's mad acceleration.

Third car I got a ride in was a Tesla. Climbed in and it was like sitting in the future. Like everything we'd been promised from sci-fi books and film. And then the driver mashed the pedal on the floor. We took off like a rocket and there was absolute silence bar the road noise coming through the tyres and faint motor whine. It was so quick, so effortless and nearly absolute silence.

The GTR and RS6 were putting down equal amounts of torque to their BHP figures, but the way it was delivered it was so different. The RS6 was an older C6 (I think that's it's identifier) so was using an old auto slush box torque converter, or what Audi calls "tiptronic". And you could feel when the car should have been changing gear, but due to the software and whatever else it was slightly delayed. The GTR was much much quicker with the flappy paddles, but gave a hard jerk every time it changed up. The Tesla just went. No delay. No jerkiness. Smooth as silk. It's hard to explain unless you've ridden in one, or compared back to back. I walked away thinking "holy fuck that was awesome". It just kept you pinned to the seat until we hit top speed and then started to run out of runway.

If I could afford one, I'd have one. But there's absolutely nowhere to charge the things here except your home.

One must ask why anyone would buy an AMD device this, or any other, year.

Intel has AMD beat in performance, price:performance, IPC, PPC and power consumption.

Across the board Intel products are superior to AMD at every price level and yet you autistic losers continue to both buy and, worse, push them onto unsuspecting consumers.

This is not only dishonest but it seems your reasoning for this is antisemitic. This kind of racist hate speech will no longer be tolerated.

You have been warned. Recommend another AMD product over Intel and you will be banned and reported to local law enforcement agencies for hate speech.

I know you're being sarcastic and all, but it really is true. There is absolutely no reason to buy an AMD cpu.

Thank you for your support, friend. Don't forget to report any posts recommending AMD to the moderators. Use the 'illegal content' button since hate speech such as racist judeophobic slurs are illegal in the US.

G-dspeed friend!

Putting my computer together today. (first one ever.) So far I have a r9 390, 990Fxa motherboard with a fx 8350 processor, corsair 650W gold plus, and obviously a monitor keyboard and mouse. I also have a Evo fan that I bought plus the case for the whole thing, don't exactly remember name of it. I know that I need thermal paste for the processor and probably gonna buy wind 7 so I can upgrade to 10. Anything else though? I think that's it. Ty
Forgot to add, have 8GB ballisticks ram, and a 2TB Toshiba Hard drive.

As a coder / C++ codemonkey is it worth learning to EE / solder shit?

I know a guy that went to an ivy league school and for his senior project he couldnt even make a basic universal remote, he was that pathetic. Is it really that hard to do basic shit or was he just a complete retard?

I learned to solder when I was 12.
A monkey could learn it by the age of 4.

Electrical engineering is a cut above my pay grade, but its something you could figure out given enough time and effort.

Living in 2016 is a nightmare. There is no good desktop OS available today.

>Windows 10 is adware and spyware and is forced upon users of previous Windows versions whether they comply to it or not
>OS X is casual, sterilised shit
>Linux is still just a hobby OS for nerds that doesn't just werk

Why oh why can't we return to the glory days of Windows 7? That OS was just perfect but Microsoft is actively pulling users out of it and into its Windows 10 hellhole.

i want to use a service that when other people ask me about it i can say "oh it's this really small thing you've probably never heard of it" and then bask in the contrived sense of smug superiority.

oh, you again
>>

Nice, it's the first time I see a functional programming general here.
To get this rolling, look at this stunning implementation of Fibonacci numbers in Haskell:
fibs = 0 : 1 : zipWith (+) fibs (tail fibs)

If you want to understand how this works, just remember that Haskell evaluates function arguments lazily (google term: lazy evaluation).
>>
Why would one choose haskell over python?

Sup /g/. I got my hands on this tablet from my uncle, but it turns out that it is utter shit. The sound sucks ass, battery life is abysmal, and it has like 500mb internal memory, so I can't even install a 900 mb game.

I rooted and removed the shitty UI so it only runs stock 4.4, but I can't find any uses for it. It's too generic to find any roms for.

What should I do with it?
