An i3 6100 could probably match your i5 at stock.
An i5 6500 would outperform it, and an i5 6600k would destroy it.

You would lose against an overclocked fx 8350. Just give up.

There isn't one.

There genuinely fucking isn't one that has very simple straightforward basic functionality.

I don't want to use paint to make a magically fucking work of world class art. I don't need to be able to tickle my asshole with some sort of wanktastic fucking filter or feature, I just want to crop something or resize something or draw a fucking funny face.

There is no real alternative to ms paint.

Can you feel it, GPLtards?

You spent decades spent coding an entire unix operating system from scratch. You snubbed permissive software licenses and instead hid behind your cherished GPL which you promised would protect your freedom and protect your work from being exploited by corporations.

But it didn't.

You made excuses for Android. You wilfully ignored Red Hat selling proprietary Linux. You pretended that evil corporations like Facebook building their wealth on the back of gratis GPL software was fair and was a good thing.

But you can't close your eyes and plug your ears anymore, not after this.

Today is the day the GPL died. Just think about it. Just let it sink in. All that work, all those thousands of programmers contributing code for decades... all that came of it in the end was a product to be sold and branded by Microsoft, given to them for free by the unpaid labour of thousands of people blinded by the false promises of the GPL.

We told you the GPL was cancer. We told you to go permissive or proprietary. But you didn't listen.

And now it's too late.

You're misunderstanding the point of the GPL and the four freedoms. Some of the licenses RMS considers non-free are essentially the GPL with a "no commercial use" clause. You have every right to sell free software. Or sell support for it, or act as a developer-for-hire to add some feature to it that someone wants.

The point of the GPL isn't to prevent businesses from using the software. Hell, it's a good thing if they use it. It's there to prevent businesses - or anyone - from trying to deny you the freedom to use, modify, and redistribute the software as you see fit. As long as they give you those freedoms, businesses are more than welcome to use, modify, distribute, and make money off of GPL code.

Yes, they certainly will have Bash.

And instead of apt-get they will have the Windows Store.

I don't like rebooting to run winkek programs.

Those of you with passthroughed gpus, how does it run? Is the performance native or near native? How much work did it take to get working the way you wanted? What's the audio latency like?

Basically, is it worth the effort if I want to use it for gaymen and audio work? I already have a really nice environment on my linux install that I use for development, but linux doesn't support some gayms that I like and a lot of good audio software.

In my opinion the problem with [movie] piracy can be broken into two things

1) the quality of movies has gone downhill to the point where people dont feel like the price is worth it. Egamples are most sequals. Good movies still remain successful because people are willing to pay for them

2) Availability of content on a global scale. The fact that X country needs to wait for longer for shows (weekly shows, movies, ect) than US, JAP, etc is an easy reason for people to pirate.

bonus) drm free, as opposed to stuff like blu ray which makes you watch 20 mins of anti pirate stuff that pirates dont have to

I think in the long run piracy doesnt hurt anyone, it in fact makes movies have to be of a higher quality

Software piracy on the other hand can never be harmful to a company. Without a doubt, Microsoft and adobe wouldnt have come to be the kings of software if it wasnt for the availability of their software to the general public for free. Games too, they become more popular due to piracy.

Music on the other hand... Its a pure case of not having $30 for a CD. I buy individual and non "big corporate" stuff because it supports the artists, unlike say universal music which is built on image, not music (as an example).

What do you think?

Even a person that believes that "intellectual property" is a god-given right bestowed upon man must see that the situation today has more to do with corporations and corrupt governments being asshats.
>>
Go to a CD store some time. Cds havn't been $30 since the 00's (unless you're dumb and shop in the mall or at Wallmart). That said, most artists get their money from touring and not CDs so I can't blame people for pirating if that artist has no other ways to buy their music directly from them. If you can buy it directly like on Band Camp you should.

As to movies/TV: I feel piracy is only OK if you can't get it legally. Even just watching it on some Netflix/Amazon type site shows interest in the series and does kick some money back to the creators so go legal if you can. It's seriously less than $10 for most streaming services.

I really hate how the Pokemon movies never get released outside of Japan for the most part and are shown maybe once on a cable station and that's it. Period. I have had to pirate every one of them outside of the early films because there was no choice. Also yes, they are sequels, but some of them are actually quite good and had a ton of effort put into them.

Also don't get me started on Japan-only games and the cease and desists thrown at fan translations....
