Alright /g/ I need your help. I was digging in the "corporate trashbin" at my work and found a fully functioning touchscreen lenovo laptop worth like $2000+ and they let me have it!!!
The problem is they never disabled the admin password and the bios is limited (I cannot boot from USB). How can I install a new OS on it?

the problem they have is, the most likely language for it to replace is java. but companies are slow to adapt and it's still not clear which advantages exactly they'd have by using go instead of java. the biggest downside of java is oracle, but then they'd end up trading oracle for google in the long run, so it seems to me like another language will end up replacing java instead.

the cli tools were the biggest advantage to linux imho. it just makes developing shit so much easier than windows.
now that it's available on windows, ubuntu will lose a shit load of developers. people will start asking themselves why they even need to run linux if everything just werks.
