I know it's dirty. I'm not the smoker in the house and spring cleaning is on the way.
So my computer decided to update on Windows 10 on its own. At first I was really pissed off, but after using it for 2 days, I actually start to really like my Windows 10 now. It looks a lot nicer than windows 7, it boots faster, and the new Windows updated automatically fixed all my drivers problems without me having to search for them on the internet. So why does /g/ hate 10 so much? I think its a lot nicer than 7 and definitely 8. I also heard they are now getting linux compatibility support. So what's the big deal with people not liking Windows 10? It's pretty darn good in my opinion.
I agree with you. Windows 10 is pretty great and it's also a completely FREE upgrade. There's also now only a couple months left for the free upgrade so taking advantage of it right now is a no-brainer.

I used it a few months ago (been away from Windows dince XP) and I'm wondering if there's anything someone can do to password protect system files. The same issue Windows has had since always afaik. Does such a thing exists?

I want something I can play my steam games on. Most likely I'll end up streaming them to the tv or something. I've tried to find out input lag information but to no avail. The VIZIO actually has some people say it's input lag is 29.5ms or other good sounding speeds but the reviews that do say that don't seem that trustworthy.
If anyone has experience with these companies/models/etc and can help I'd appreciate the advice.

There are four ways to try GNU/Linux, you can:
0) Install a GNU/Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
1) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full GNU/Linux experience".
2) Dual-boot GNU/Linux with Windows/Mac (recommended if you want to learn more about GNU/Linux)
3) Go balls deep and overwrite everything with GNU/Linux
Before asking, please search for answers to your questions in resources.
Please be civil, notice the "Friendly" in every Friendly GNU/Linux Thread.
Understand that much of your software from Windows will be unavailable, although maybe WINE can make up for it.
