Why don't we have a full stack free as in freedom smartphone yet? It can't be that hard to do

The UnaPhone is the next 100% botnet free phone to keep an eye on. It definitely won't be for the "m-muh apps!" crowd. You can't install .apk files on it, and can't root it.

This thread is about free as in freedom phones.
>>54568465
Free as in freedom computers started because of Bell Lab's monopoly. They didn't give a fuck so they released source code. When the freedom started to go away, people like RMS backlashed and went out to ensure freedom lived in computing.
Phone companies feel threatened by each other so they have attempted to control their users since smartphones existed. And thus no initial freedom has ever existed to kickstart freedom phones.
What xposed module do you use /g/?
Pic related
>>54568440
none because I'm a cuckold for using a Galaxy S6 where samsung has heavily modified the ART runtime for their stock ROMs that Xposed doesn't exist and the bootloader is still locked so there's no AOSP ROMs to replace it with
>>54568466
Samsung phones really are nothing but knock off iPhones.
>>54568440
No need to.
I have adaway, newpipe, and webtube

Hey /g/
it seems that the next device I'll buy (tablet or small laptop) will run on either Windows 10 or Android;
I want to use the device for school stuff (writing essays/notes, making presentations), drawing, gaming and reading e-books mostly
Which OS device would be better suited for me? What are the pros and cons of both Android and Windows 10?
If you're on a tighter budget, Android.
But if you have some more room with budget, Surface tablets aren't bad - especially for using OneNote with a stylus to take notes, if that's how you want to go about it.
Android tablets are basically giant smart phones.
Windows 10 tablets are like scaled down laptops, and while not as powerful, still have access to better software. Especially Office.
Full version of Office is 10x better than any smartphone app / free Office online / Google Doc. That alone is a huge selling point, as a student.

Also, depending on your major, they might require you to install software such as Matlab, that's only supported on Windows (sometimes Mac), but rarely a mobile OS.
Example for art major would be Photoshop.
Example for engineering major would be Matlab.
>>54568523
>>54568555
Solid answer, would have guessed something in that direction as well so I guess Windows 10 it is
Thanks anon
Ok
You know, I thought it was just /v/tards hyping this shit up
But it's becoming very similar to win10 shilling now

Because the JVM is just that good. Plenty of companies are still using Java and other languages on the JVM.

Nvidia shills have been deployed already.
You dont have to know how to read to know it.
I mean, this happens every year but this time is just too rough.
I need another fermi to happen.
btw i use the iGPU on my 2500k :^)

There is nothing wrong with nvidia

>NVIDIA knows how to make a product people want to buy
>AMDrones lose their shit and are on suicide watch because AMD can't make shit people want to buy despite being cheaper and most consumers obsessed with buying cheap goods ie Walmart, but they'd still rather buy more expensive NVIDIA components because AMD is just that fucking bad

Oh I'm laffin t b h familia.

Also
AMD-Fails with processors too , theyr most expensive shit is not good enought to compete with medium tier intel

What should I know if I want to be a system admin? Are there any books worth reading on the subject?

I have it on my desk at all times.

afaik sys admins just sit around all day and laugh at all the porn the CEO watches

I really like that cover design. Is that a good book for beginners?
Regex thread.
So I have only used regular expressions with syntax like ()+* as part of a formal language ("math" for you plebs) class. How do I translate that to Java regex?
write a compiler to transform your regex syntax to java, obviously
haven't you actually learned anything in that formal language class lol
>>54566118
Didn't you learn english in preschool lol? The problem is formal languages and java use totally different syntaxes for regular expressions
>>54566252
>The problem is formal languages and java use totally different syntaxes for regular expressions
yes that's why you need a compiler fucktard lol
your languages are incompatible as you say and a compiler is literally a tool to transform one language to another pay more attention in class lmao
What's the most Zen programming language?
Is Whitespace the path to enlightenment, master?

Racket

It depends. White spaces in C are zen.
White spaces in python are a slow death

fuck off back to /v/ nigger
This meme right here. It can do everything, yet we don't have it everywhere. Is manufacturing it that hard, is it that costly? Having filters from it would be fantastic, but more than anything I'd love some sanic fast transistors from them. Memephene when?
>>54565105
It's one atom thick, so I imagine it's pretty hard to manufacture.
>>54565279
Silicon was hard to manufacture as well, but we eventually got it.
>>54565105
Its difficult to make which is why its so expensive. Graphene capacitors are ludicrously expensive but their energy density is tons smaller than lithium.
Basically when forming graphene you have to stop these layers of carbon from latching on laterally. You have to physically stop the layers from sticking to another layer. Chemically this is done usually by keeping the carbon ionized but that requires a lot of energy to maintain

That's what confuses me. Ubuntu 14.04 works with all of my stuff. But 16.04 doesn't.
It's garbage.

Works fine for me OP.
You must just be an idiot. I'd suggest a more idiot friendly distro like Mint or OS X.
