Is SATAe really useful? Is it really worth it to splurge an extra 40$ with the same specifications with the SATAe being the only difference? Can I even fucking use the 16GB/s hardware today or even in the future?

Where did you find a satae drive?
>>
>>54559555
SATAe is just a specification for having a PCIe-based drive without having it connected straight to the board.
Mostly just useful for servers, where you would want to swap drives in and out from the front. For a desktop, it's way easier to just stick a drive in an M.2 or normal PCIe slot.
>>
>>54561378
It's NOT used in servers, they use NVMe. It only uses a connector similar to SAS/Sata! This allows SAS or NVMe drivers in the same hotswap bay. There are M.2 to NVMe Adapters (PCIe part only) to connect SSDs with an internal NVMe cable.

With M.2 (consumer) and NVMe (server) SATAe is dead in the water and a waste of money.

Will the 1080 be able to run games at 4K 60fps?

Still can't render you mom's ass
>>
>>54559541
No, it only supports resolutions up to 1920x1080, hence the name. For 4k 60fps you need to get tha GTX 2610.

Hello /g/ i have a few questions about my build.
The way it is right now is like this:

Cpu: Intel i7 6700k: €349
Gpu: MSI GTX970 Gaming 4G: €335
Mobo: Asus Z170 pro gaming: €149
Ram: Corsair vengeance LPX((3200mhz)16gb): €87
Psu: Corsair CS650M: €98
CPU cooler: Be quiet! Dark rock advanced: €58
SSD: San disk plus 240 GB: €68

The problem regarding this build is that it is the maximum i can spend on a rig and i would like to switch the 970 to the 1070. So i need to compensate for the higher price. Which component should i switch for a cheaper one? The mobo? Maybe the cpu? Psu? I dont really know much about mobos so i took the one with a z170 chipset is this needed? Maybe the PSU is overpriced? I would like a PSU were i can add an extra card if i want.

Im going to use this rig to do gay men stuff and work (programs like inventor/solid works)

I also would like to add another hdd into the mix if i can spare some money on this build.

I appreciate your help in advance, i can include the link of the cart if some guys are interested, but its from a dutch webshop.

Jesus christ /g/, the 390 is based but the drivers make me want to cut my balls off. Am I tin foil hatting or is someone sabotaging widows 7 and 8? Ever since the windows 10 updates rolled out my display driver crashes, radeon host settings crashes yet on windows 10 or Linux it's perfect. Fuck Microshaft, maybe I'll just down a bottle of liquid ass and buy a Macbook?

Sage Reader could open this link. Does edge even play webm?
>>
>>54557043
No.

IE 11 did with the webm extension.
I haven't even tried to see if it would work with Edge, but I seriously doubt.

Ok, hey /g/, I have a curious mystery on my hand that may either have a mundane explanation, or lead to something deeper.

So at my school there is a donation drive where everyone dumps their shit in a room that they don't want anymore, and passing by I saw a flash drive on a stack of books, so of course I took it to see what files could be on it.

I insert it, and only one image file shows up on it, "THANK YOU_CCA.jpg," and nothing else. I can't open it so I assumed it was a corrupted file. Then I try open my data recovery tool to see what deleted files I can find randomly, and nothing shows up, except some long text file with random characters. This was a deep scan, so everything that I could find was found.

Ok, so nothing was found on this drive and I give up. Right before I unplug it, I look at the size of the flash drive and it says that, to my disbelief, 207 MB were used, while the image file was a few kilobytes. That could have been the end of a weird story, but then I inserted it back in my computer, and it doesn't show up. I reinsert it again, and still doesn't show, even in terminal when I ls the directory where it should show up. Doesn't show up on friend's comp either.

Then I decide to check the logo which is in the picture. Nowhere on google can I find anything resembling this logo, neither with reverse image search or with specific search terms for my area (NYC), etc.

So, can anybody help figure out where this drive comes from, or what is even on it? This seems a ridiculous mystery.

Is there any prepaid service that lets you buy mobile data(for hangouts) that doesn't have a renewal time limit, meaning my data left won't disappear after a month?

Welcome to BSD General. This thread is open to all things BSD including comparison to GNU/Linux and beginner inquiry.

Interested in trying BSD? Security and open source oriented users should check out OpenBSD. The most common and server-minded distro is FreeBSD, which PC-BSD has forked for desktop users. If you want to use a BSD OS and the installation/configuration doesn't appeal to you, you should leave /g/.
