That's right. Just because it's POSIX compliant doesn't make it unix. The only consumer-grade UNIX OS on the market right now is OSX. BSD is great for hobbyists and servers, but it's far from a consumer-grade OS.
My programming professor wants my class to try and install a copy of Windows on the Steam Machine.
How would we go about doing that? I heard something about replacing the hard drive but I'm not sure how complicated the inside of a Steam Machine is and if we can just replace the hard drive without complications.
Also, a classmate has a windows 8.1 usb installation. Not sure if that would do anything. I know nothing about Valve's latest creation.
I don't know anything either. But I'd do some looking around at developer options and research about how updates are applied (if there even has been any yet). Then maybe using that information you can figure out how to install the bootloader from the 8.1 drive. From there, your only problems left would be hardware drivers for wandows to figure out. So maybe to even see if the hardware will work with wandows should be the first step. Maybe buid a test bench with similar hardware?

Unless the BIOS/UEFI is locked down tight (unlikely) I don't see an issue, but I haven't seen one in person.

Whats the best way to stream music to a set of speakers from multiple devices? (not at the same time obviously)
I have two laptops, a ipad, androids, and a desktop and I want to be able to control music in the house from any of them. They dont need to acess the same music library.
Apples Airplay seems to be the best solution.

I have a genius idea for an app. How do I implement it and monetize without Apple banning me, and adding the idea as a standard feature on all their devices?

It'd be an app for your phone with a simple "on/off" icon for your homescreen.
Whenever you had a boner, you would turn it on. When it retreated, switch back to off.
Basically, the app would use your phone's GPS to place the location of you and your boner on a world/local map. You'd be able to see how many people in the world currently have boners.
You'd also be able to see large clusters of boners in your area and be like "whoa...I better get down there. Something's going on that's giving everyone a boner".
Facebook/Twitter integration would be a must.
You could track friends' boners so you could shoot them a text like "congrats on the boner" and collect stats for yourself and others, e.g. boner frequency, boner duration, prime boner time.
You'd probably also want bluetooth or NFC to alert you of boners within 100ft of you so you know to knock before walking in a room and getting an eyeful of boner.
