hey /g/, I wanna attempt to replace the micro usb charging port on a NuVision tablet, this one here
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA10V3R10088&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleMKP-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleMKP-PC-_-pla-_-Tablet+PC+-+Tablets-_-9SIA10V3R10088&gclid=CJmD06bUnsoCFdgYgQodORUEUw&gclsrc=aw.ds
well anyway I cant the exact micro port replacement anywhere, is it safe to use a similar one?? Will it even work? Ive never changed one before, but have fixed plenty of other tech shit, just not sure about this. its soldered right into the board and isnt the ones with the ribbon cable. I was just gonna get this one

no idea, bumping for interest
I know someone on this board has some experience with micro usb charge ports.
i5-6500 is the best bang for your buck and 3000 DDR4 ram improves performance by 5-20%, discuss.

well meme'd my friend

Thank you, I'm still using an HDD because I don't need my entire system to load faster.
results are suspect as other reviews showed DDR3 and DDR4 were within 7% of each other and DDR 4 2133 vs DDR4 3200 were within 1% of each other.
My oneplus one finally crapped out on me. The touchscreen stopped working on about a third of the screen, making it basically useless.
Anyways, I'm looking for a new phone I can find for under $400 with decent specs, removable battery, big screen, 1080p, SD card slot, and IP67/IP68. I'm looking at the Sony Xperia Z3 right now, but it doesn't have a removable battery. What are my other options?
>>52340942
The battery lasts a long while so you shouldn't have to worry about a removeable battery. Consider a LG G2, LG G3, or Samsung S5?
>>52340942
If your on at&t or tmobile then the ZenFone2

Any downsides to this phone?

Lookin for a place to move to in a couple of years.
Somewhere where I will be close to nature, but also have fast internet access.
Lots to do outside, but also city access for things I enjoy like theaters and other things of that nature.
Is Seattle like that?
Where can i find a place like this?
Bonus points for it being in the pacific time zone.

I think that's motherboard dependent. Seems like it should work but you won't know for sure until you try.
Building something primarily for music production and a bit of gaymen. I have a spare 500GB hard drive at home so no need to purchase one yet. Just had a few concerns.
1) How important is an aftermarket CPU cooler if I have no real plans to OC?.
2) Is it still worth buying an 1150 system or should I splash out about 250$+ extra to get a bleeding edge 1151 rig?
3) what would be a good GPU for around 250$ or less?
1. Don't waste money, stock cooler is all you'll need unless you're doing intensive shit all day
2.stay with what you have
3.gigabyte gtx 960 is gr8 for 1080p
Also, get a better powersupply, you don't need near 600w. Get a 80+gold at 450w at most
What's your budget retard? What music production software do you use?
Ram could be cheaper, PSU is absolute crap and should be replaced, GPU should be either 960 or 380, b85 is a meme and an i7 could actually be useful, consider a vishera CPU too since moar cores may come in handy.
You don't need an aftermarket cooler unless you find the stock one too noisy.
UPDATE...
>>52340131
Around 975$CAD would be ideal cause after the 13% sales tax and recycling fees that is about 1100$ even.
I run FLS and sometimes Abelton with a bunch of VSTis for some projects.
Ram was the cheapest 2*8GB kit that my local retailer has in stock.

Nice quads. I kind of want to have a larger PSU incase it ever needs to be re purposed in the future. I dont really game for 9 hours a day so I am not saving a whole shitload...

You give me hope, I will now attempt to sell my gtx 680 for $666

It looks pretty, but judge with your ears. Also, older equipment may require some work to get rid of background static and scratchy controls.
Look up the model number specs online
Stuff like thd, frequency response, wattage ratting, snr and other stuff like that
>>52339808
The worst is trying to replace a scratchy shitty volume knob, probably the most common issue with old electronic sound shit. I'm still trying to find a cheap scrapped model of my Kenwood receiver to salvage parts.
What movies/TV shows does /g/ approve of?
Sillicon Valley Pirates is obligatory
Also lain
Pretty much this >>52339703
And some here like that new hacker show that's just Fight Club. TBP:AFK was cool but dumb, I liked how they showed a bit of their tech and some of the background on copyright stuff but hated how it became a reality TV show at points

Please rate, please suggest upgrades, let's improve each other's PCs.

Get 16GB of RAM and a 40" 4K screen
Babby's first build. Runescape/Second Life/League of Legends machine. So far I'm very impressed.
The CPU is listed as a 4170 on the box, but comes up as a 4360 in speccy. Odd.
ITT: Old computers you still use for whatever reason.
>not thinkpads
I'm using an Inspiron 570. I can't afford my next build yet and I'm waiting for Pascal anyway, so I'm stuck with it. Surprisingly enough, it's a tough piece of hardware, for a stock PC from ~2009, and I've been able to push it pretty hard.
No one? Really?
i have an ibuypower with a 3770k and a 670 that i got for christmas in like 2012. ugh hate this slow ass thing. my mom is supposed to be getting me a new macbook soon tho
Acer Aspire 7741z
17 inch screen
4gb ddr3
I upgraded the cpu from some pentium i forgot to a i5 480m
Will be moving to a thinkpad soon for extra portability
Do you mine Bitcoin? What miner do you use? How did you set up your mining farm? I'm considering to buy a miner, and I want to get informed before. Thanks for replies!
