For real, if it really happens, then I don't know why you guys use Arch. They have a great wiki, but I'd rather use Debian with a minimal net install and build a DE from there.
2 times I updated Fedora and something serious broke requiring a reinstall.

I currently own an MSI GE72 Apache 2QD; it is quite loud but I mainly use an extremely quiet laptop fan
actually msi and asus (my personal fav) are tied for most quiet of all true gaming laptops. By true i mean all the ones with a decent cooling solution on the back.
The ultra thin shit cant cool properly so they are clocked real slow or just throttle a shit load to compensate bad thermals.
However, if you buy a msi laptop with 980 desktop or something of the kind, expect some loudiness for fans to cope with a non mobile card generating lots of heat
