Why do I have a €1500 new PC in my shopping cart right now?? This one I currently have works just fine, everything runs instantly, the two games I occasionally play run at 200+ FPS and the whole PC is better than what 99% of people have.
Why do I/We do this?
Am I compensating for something in my life?
Am I autistic?
Or is it just a hobby and people spend inappropriate amounts of money on their hobbies so its normal?

My view of any hobby is this: Does spending time and money on it take away from other parts of your life; do you find it impossible to stop, even if you really want to; and do you never feel satisfied with it no matter how much you do it?
If you can't stop even with though there are significant negative repercussions, then there may be a problem.

Why is Windows 10 such a piece of trash? It's always hogging all my network bandwidth, I had to disable the built in defender because it always rams up the cpu when I wake up my laptop. I went through most of the tutorials online to disable telemetry and other bullshit, but there's still stuff happening in the background. Should I re-install Windows 7, or has MS gave it it's AIDS too?

Hi /g/! I think I fucked up and I need help ASAP. Long story short, I needed some files for work that I went and got from my colleague's PC, BUT, after I got home and opened up my USB, EVERYTHING on it was gone. I had lost EVERYTHING. Is there any way I can return any files at all? I had files of big significance & it sucks losing them all.

I installed Android 6.0.1 custom rom (because android phone makers are shit at updates). I noticed camera focusing when not in use, sometimes even when the screen is off. Is the rom maker or google spying on me?

Why are people soo stupid anons. Yeah, razer's peripherals are trash ( mice, keyboards , DEFINITELY headphones) but the laptops are ok. Everytime Razer posts about their laptops kids comment ( oh man I can't get it cause it's too darn expensive) it's a pretty think and light laptop with decent construction and respectable horsepower ( and the retarded decison of having a 4k screen ) whilst having mostly acceptable thermals. It's not a budget laptop you nonce . Plus it should be know Razer is the Apple of pc stuff when it comes to pricing .

I hate the term "hackers" as much as the next guy, and have gotten into the whole "the traditional meaning of the word 'hackers'" and "there's a difference between 'hackers' and 'crackers'" debate with people online and in real-life, but fuck. I can't find a term to deal with people who break into systems remotely and steal shit, and "crackers" both sounds weird and sounds like it's more geared towards people who crack software.
So, I'm fine with using "hackers" in the cybersecurity and "happy hacking!" sense.
Hell, I don't even have a problem with pics like the OP's anymore. It gets the point across quickly, and everyone looking at it will get it. The same couldn't be said if it depicted what an ACTUAL hacker may look like, or how non-exciting the actual process of hacking is.
