i can understand if someone mistakes "dead" for "doesn't work anymore", especially since the term is used for batteries that are actually dead, too

this is fair, too, modems/modem+routers/modem+router+APs and router+AP's all looks pretty much the same most of the time, there's even ones with internal antennas, so don't say "but mah pointy antennas"

I had a friend who returned his Samsung and got an iPhone 6 after I convinced him to give android a chance when upgrading from his iPhone 5.

It'll end in less than 5 years. Just enough so that the current wave gets ground up in programming.
A combination of realising that coding isn't sitting on facebook all day and is actually pretty hard and no well that's it.
Just the realisation that coding isn't actually just sitting at a computer typing like a secretary.
Oh that's right- and companies realise that pajeets don't make good coders and the average skill level of women coders is lower than males.
Not to say women can't program but the male pool has a higher average, so if you're forced to hire 50:50 then you're losing quality.

Like there's literally nothing for you to worry about dude. Like there's so many programming jobs and software is such a fast paced industry that this isn't hurting you. Companies aren't going to start only hiring women, and the ones that do you won't want to work at anyway.
Women ARE underrepresented in the programming industry and they belive it's because of awareness. Let them believe that. You will still find that the overwhelming majority of schools and companies are made up of men, your favorite thing! Just chill out, and ignore this if it bothers you. It probably won't affect your life very much
