Daily reminder if you install Ubuntu or Red Hat products like Fedora, you're doing it wrong. If you install Steam, Skype and Flash, you're doing it even more wrong. In this case, you should just stay at Windows 10, because installing non-free distros and non-free software converts your computer into the same freedom denying spy machine like Windows does.
What is wrong with RedHat or Fedora?

exactly nothing. People like OP hang out too much in /r/justneckbeardthings to even understand that Fedora was Fedora before wearing a Fedora was associated with overweight unshaven basement dwellers.

Does anyone with MDR-7506s hear subtle, but very noticeable driver actuation noises when listening to bass tones under 200Hz?
It's like a fluttering noise, and I've been hearing it every since I bought them.

is this what eargasm sounds like?
>>53964646
There might be something stuck into the driver like a hair.
What stickers are you sporting on your laptops?
>>53961319
I wish there were more small "case badge" style stickers, a centimeter or two square, instead of all these giant things that people plaster on their laptops. If the stickers were tiny and more understated I'd have a few.
This makes me really want a burger

Let's settle this once and for all.
KDE vs GNOME.
GO.
KDE.
>>53960607
Qt is the future, so it's KDE.
Qt is just a superior framework. Unity already switched so it's just a matter of time until other DEs and programs such as Firefox switch to Qt
GNOME is generally more polished.
KDE is generally more flexible.
Each has their benefits and downsides, and general 'feel'. People gotta pick what they prefer, there is no objective superior choice.

Go this on a budget more than one year ago, never bother to get the second 8GB stick since 8GB was sufficient and I don't think dual channel improves performance on things beside 7zip compressing but now that I have some money to spare thinking of upgrading to a 4690K since this board can already overclock.

Okay, whose fucking bright idea was it to design this shit? What reason is there for a fucking SIM CARD to be this small? Who the hell asked for this? You don't USE a sim card. You INSERT IT INTO YOUR PHONE. Why the hell is changing the card supposed to be a pain? You could easily just make it something large, or simply being able to insert it inside the phone like a pop-in, pop-out, or NOT MAKE A SHITTY TRAY TO SOMEHOW MAYBE PUT THE CARD IN. Who's the asshole who made that tray, because I really hope they got fired. They deserve to be fired. Nobody with the IQ higher than 4 could look at a design like this and think it's a good idea. It's practically impossible to insert the card in the tray then finally in the phone. I really hope this piece of shit design gets banned somehow and give us something that's actually PRACTICAL or CONVENIENT. I don't care how many couple bucks you want to save for your multi-million dollar company. It's not going to hurt your product to make these things a couple inches bigger. Maybe if you lose the shitty tray you'll break even.
hey guys how do you put it in the tray?
Stupid fuck. It's really easy. Maybe your hands are not precise enough, ape.
>>53959510
What's your design to replace a sim tray then smart guy?

Other business laptops are also welcome in /tpg/ (e.g. Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook).

If you're looking for purchase advice, READ THE BUYERS GUIDE FIRST. Then post, stating budget and requirements (e.g. size and performance).
Don't buy anything OTHER THAN T, X AND W/P SERIES if you want the Real ThinkPad Experience™
Recommended models:
T420 - 14", normal size
X220 - 12.5", lightweight
----
Why ThinkPad? (also applies to other business laptops)
>Used machines are plentiful and cheap.
>Excellent keyboards - tactile feel and quiet.
>Great durability: chassis uses a magnesium rollcage for structural integrity, with high quality plastic body panels.
>Utilitarian design: e.g. indicator LEDs, 7 row keyboard layout on older models.
>Docking stations that easily turns your laptop into a desktop.
>Easy to repair, upgrade and maintain thanks to readily available service manuals for every model. Spare parts are easy and cheap to obtain.
>The best trackpoint (that red thing in the middle of the keyboard). Great for those who type a lot or hate swiping their fingers all over a touchpad.
>Excellent GNU/Linux & *BSD support.

Is there any downside to picking up an HP EliteBook besides the keyboard?
Whats a good 13" thinkpad with good battery life?
Does the X220 only have 5 hours?
>>53958874
Not directly. It's more so what you prefer, and getting the best you can get with your budget baring hardware, aesthetics, and quality. However your bound to get more Thinkpoint support and help on this board due to the popularity of Thinkpads.

Yup.
But, it depends on the person. Some would rather wind and forget and some will wind it up a little every few hours.
Why is the Patek 3970 literally the most perfect watch of all time?
>>53953999
I have a hard time imagining someone who actually likes and cares about watches will have an issue, or even not just enjoy, winding it.

Still no working crack for plex...

>>53943177
I tried sym-linking my mpv.conf to plex's folder and it seemed to work, but I don't like how it just straight up uses a different set of options than mpv.
I want a fancy media player front end that just hooks into mpv and loads all rendering options from mpv.conf
We can use plex-media-player with Openelec!!!
https://github.com/plexinc/plex-media-player/releases/tag/v1.0.6.229-1ce41570
So we can use mpv with Kodi?
