I'm fairly new to this hobby so charts don't mean much to me. The 702's are fantastic with great clarity and sound stage but the reality is that they sound plain and flat compared to these mk3's. The mk3's sound a lot fuller and the bass sounds perfect but not overpowering. the clarity on them is still amazing but they have a slightly narrower sound stage than the 702.
I bought the mk3's knowing I could send them back to amazon, turns out i'm listing my akg's on ebay.

Anyone know any good mods for the T50RP Mk3? They're near perfect but i want to lessen the highs without EQ since i use them for portable and on other devices and can't EQ them on certain sources.
I typically love warmer sounding headphones but these are very analytical and detailed.

It's honestly fine, if you need an all-in-one gaming headset the Cloud II is the best thing out there in the price range.
I looked at them recently myself when shopping for a headset to use on PS4 and for casual PC use, but ended up going with the Sennheiser Game Zero because it was on sale and would work with my sound card instead of bypassing it with a USB DAC. (I use Sony V6s and an audio interface + studio mic for serious recording, but it's nice to have an all-in-one solution when I just want to play CS with friends or whatever.)

Yes the PSB M4U 2. Highly rated by professionals like Zeos. Bose doesn't care about sound quality, all they care about are profit margins like beats. Beats have noise cancelling too and are highly rated but they are just overhyped. Zeos is pretty smart on the subject, you shouldn't take his advice for granted.

Not really, they are basically the same headphone with a different color scheme, the only difference that affects sound is that the HD558 has two small foams behind the grills to add a bit of bass, people who want the sound of the HD598 usually just remove the foam, some people even say the stock HD558 is better anyway.

The M50X is not very popular here, but it sounds very similar to the V-moda M80 and is over-ear, not a king of comfort, but better than on-ears headphones at least, M40X is cheaper and a bit flatter though, in case you think the M80/M50X bass is too much.
The MDRv6/7506 is another option for over-ear, if you can get one + Auray Sheep Skin Pads for it comfort would increase a lot, but the signature is rather bright, quite the opposite of the M50X.

Besides the not-stellar sound quality as well as my ears can tell, they shock the inside of my ears sometimes and break if I look at them the wrong way.
