What cheap chink tech have you bought, and would you recommend it?

Yes, we know everything is already from China but in here we discuss the no/low-name cheap shit you see on eBay, AliExpress, Gearbest and similar sites.

In China many things tend to be poor copies of originals, even Chink Shit Generals are prone to bootlegs.

Don't forget to post pics of your items and review them for use in the pastebin!

While Focalprice are a bunch of stingy bastards about mispriced shit, Gearbest has honoured the 10cent Ultrafire flashlights and (most) Cakebux purchases.

Waiting for a backpack ordered in February. They spit my order, only got the water pen

GearBest gets dissed too much, they don't deserve it.

Anyone ever have an Ali supplier call them over an order? I ordered a kit from the official Orange Pi store a while ago and got a few mails about the order. Supposedly they called my parents place (its where I was when I first registered) few times last week about it as well? They had no idea what the fuck was going on or why someone in China was calling them. I don't even know why they were calling, I was responding to the mails.

the telstar (I think that's the name) x98 pro is really decent from what I saw on YT.

But the biggest issue with most of the popular wintabs are the heat distributions. which are poor and can make the tablet warm

in doing what, is not clear. From watching the vid it sounds like it'll get hot after doing becnchmarks and emulations

not sure about light use

Hello there!

I need a new phone. I'm planning on lots of traveling and I need a phone capable of this:

Smooth web browsing
Good GPS
Basic social media apps

Skype
Decent camera

cheap (around 200 bucks)

Any tips?

The x98 pro is over $230 m8.

The Hi8 Pro is currently the best tablet under 100 dollars.

Sure the battery is not great, the eMMC is not great but it has the best screen compared to all other 8" tablets who have worse screens, worse builds or just as bad eMMC.

The VE monks are a meme, there's nothing special about them, it's a cheap generic shell around a standard tiny little driver. It's all standard budget components with nothing special going on at all.

At least they're not expensive.

The idea behind them is as follows:
>Source cheap as fuck bulk components
>Build completely standard cheap earbuds from them
>Shill your product on head-fi
>Head-fi regulars who legitimately do not have any idea what they're talking about start spouting bullshit about the imaging and sound stage clarity of them, because I already said it was great
>People go to head-fi without knowing they're all fucking retards

Very simple, very cheap.

Actual audiophile-ish anon here (audiophile like "I've listened to a few good headphones", not "I just ordered porcelain cable risers for $31,999"). Ordered both the ED9 and the ATE. Both have arrived, though the ED9 has a sealing issue that I have a replacement coming for in a day or two, but I should be able to give a pretty accurate impression of the sound (with very short burn in; I only have 20 hrs burn on both pairs)

Give me a moment and I'll type out a review here for everyone. Personally, I prefer the sound of the ED9s with the bass nozzles to the ATEs or the ED9s with the neutral nozzles; the ED9s are painfully bright with the neutral nozzles and the ATEs are darker than a mandatory high school class in the deep south. Hoping burn-in helps the sibilance of the ED9s and the veiled nature of the ATEs.

Initial impressions: Arrived in a little shield case just like the ED9. (Pictured, top left) Packaged within were the IEMs and three sets of tips - large silicone, medium foam, and small silicone. The foam tips, personally, were painfully large for me, but I have a petite frame and usually need small earbuds anyway; it's a shame since I would have liked to test the foam earbuds that I assume most anons will be using. So, this review was conducted with the small silicone tips.

Overview of the earbuds:

Comfort: Once inserted, the IEM is relatively comfortable at first; though you can definitely feel the nozzle in your ear as it's quite long and thick (kek). It starts to become uncomfortable over time and I found myself needing breaks from having the IEMs in my ears. Wearing them over the ear, even with glasses, provided minimal issues with pain on my ear and kept them in place extremely well.
They aren't the most comfortable IEM I've ever tested but there's been far worse. These IEMs absolutely must be worn over the ear or they will fall out due to their housing shape and design, but I didn't notice any particular discomfort related to wearing them that way; it's a direct improvement as far as microphonics and fit are concerned.

Microphonics: With the sport clips included in the ED9s attached to them, microphonics are audible but not annoying. They're quiet enough that they won't detract from the listening experience when worn over the ear. With that in mind, I'd recommend shelling out for the sport clip version of the ATE if you do choose to purchase it.

i keep a similar one in my guitar case all the time. they are fine if you need it portable, but wired irons will still have more power for the price.

(2/3, apparently)

Sound: Now for the part everyone is actually interested in.

In general, I found the sound of the KZ ATEs to be dark, but not obstructively so. Treble is present, but slightly veiled; it lacks the clarity and width associated with neutral monitors. That being said, voices come out clear and loud enough to not detract from the experience, giving the headphone something of an imbalanced "V" shaped sound signature. As is typical for the sound signature, mids are a bit drowned out, particularly with vocals. EQ may help this.
That being said of the treble being veiled and the midrange being good, the bass/midbass are the stars of the show; they come out deep and impactful. You will feel the thump of the bass in your body; it has that much kick to it. Midbass is the focus of the sound signature and depending on the kind of music you listen you, you may actually enjoy this; rap would sound great with these, but honestly, who here listens to rap?

The IEMs are EXTREMELY revealing of source quality. They transform in sound signature in a surprisingly huge way when connected to different devices. For example, I noticed much better, sharper treble when played through an iPod Video 5.5 (non-diymod), and flatter and more sterile signature out of my LG G3, losing its warmth and impact as well as its clarity. When connected to my HTC One M8, the bass was boosted to near unbearable levels without an associated gain in bass quality and warmth; it became a very synthetic and unappealing fake bass that was being overplayed dramatically. The treble and midrange suffered under the midbass's weight. I could not test them with my desktop audio setup as a 6.3mm -> 3.5mm adapter was required and the angled shape of the ATE's plug made it impossible to connect.

As far as how it sounded on a genre basis with what I tested:
Synthwave: Good; bass and treble played together relatively well, with the upper-mids being slightly recessed. In a nonvocal track, the listening experience was pleasing, though not particularly impressive.
Electronic: Okay; on treble-focused tracks, the vocals were present and worked in tandem with the rest of the music, but they didn't have the clarity that other headphones (such as the ED9) have. A good listening experience, but not much more than that.
Rock: Good; the bass guitar and drums came out on top and carried the song well, but vocals were crushed under their weight. Again, clarity suffers, its a veiled sound.
Metal: Great; I didn't expect it, but these performed pretty well at metal. The v-shaped signature was VERY obvious as the softer and sharper guitars created a gap in which the vocals lied, but as the song was primarily focused on the treble and bass working together, it turned out well.

Conclusion:

Comfort: 5.0/10: Uncomfortable, but tolerable for longer listening sessions
Microphonics: 7.0/10, minimal and unobtrusive but present
Sound: 5.5/10: While it may appeal to some, I felt the V-shaped sound signature of the earbuds detracted heavily from the sound quality. It's a very subjective type of sound but objectively speaking, the midrange suffered, the treble was veiled, and only the bass/midbass had particularly noteworthy performance.

The ED9s will be next, once my good pair arrives. I'll also update this later after 200 hours of burn in on the ATEs.

Also here's the missing picture. Top is the case and all, bottom are the earbuds themselves.

Shit has changed, the Chinese know there is more profit on the long run if they start their own brand instead of coping a western one.

I'll recommend the Convoy S2+ and C8. I'm pretty sure there isn't a "best" LED torch for everyone.
