Not sure if you're serious but it varies greatly by processor&architecture, but the basic idea is that some small piece of the processor will stay 'awake' and listen for interrupts, while the rest idles

Make sure not to use any fake block device storage technology such as LVM (as installed by default by various distributions, including Fedora) they result in the systemd-udev-settle.service unit to be pulled in.
Consider bypassing the initrd, if you use one.
Consider disabling SELinux and auditing.
Consider uninstalling syslog.
Consider masking a couple of redundant distribution boot scripts, that artificially slow down the boot. Also remove all LVM/RAID/FCOE/iSCSI related packages which slow down the boot substantially even if no storage of the specific kind is used.

Right, Im No pro when it comes to IP tracking. I have a few IP adressess that geographically Point to the same location in europe, Coming from a mobile device.
however, the person i believe to be using these IP addresses ( its nothing sinister, Its from Votes on a poll) claims to be in a different country, because of traveling for work.
do I believe the data, or do i believe in the person?
the addresses have pointed to the same geographical Point in Italy for three weeks, Whilst the person has claimed they have been in Croatia, surbia, and Hungary.
Is there any way this person could be telling the truth? I know its a long shot, but who better than a board of geeks to help a bro out?

I hate making a support thread, but I think I have a problem that suffices for one.
I had a motherboard whose integrated audio completely died when I installed something into a PCIE slot, so I bought another one.
This one had an issue with the audio on only the front port. It would make quiet electrostatic buzzes and hisses, which would become louder if I started something graphically intensive, or when I moved me mouse. (I have no idea why)
I tried hooking another computer case's audio through my computer (to make sure it wasn't my case) and it still had the same problem.
I issued an RMA and got a replacement board, which showed the same issues.
I issued another RMA on that board, got a refund, and bought a motherboard of different make.
It has the same fucking problem and I'm dumbfounded of why. I have absolutely no clue of why it is happening.
It happens in Ubuntu as well.
Is there anything else responsible for audio? Do I have faulty RAM? Is there something wrong with my CPU?
I have no clue and my day is ruined. I am going to cry.

Hey /g/uys, I'm working on a little C# console app that will calculate age in days after the user enters their birthday in MM/DD/YYYY format. I am trying to put a while loop with try/catch to, for example, stop people from spamming an invalid entry.
The problem however is that I'm a total fucking newb with this and when I run the exe and try it myself, I will enter an incorrect value and it will prompt me to try again. When I try again and hit enter the console window just closes. This is driving me mad, can anyone help?
