1x 8GB ram kit vs 2x 4GB ram kit
Has dual kits much better performance over single kit?
Thinking about getting 1x 8gb kit now and upgrade to 16gb if needed.
I only have 2 ram slots on my mini-itx board.

I've read dual channel has a 10-15% performance gain over single due to higher bandwidth. You won't see any difference realistically though
"dual kit" is slightly faster for benchmark purposes
in real world performance especially in gaymen you won't notice any difference

i got a school project concerning 4k video and codecs. after im done i plan on sharing my results here/ /g/ wiki as well, so can you guys help me so i can make it as possible?
what i have:

>sony pxw-x70
what i plan on doing
>shoot video at 4096/3840x2160 on both cameras
>export raw video
>compress videos to 80 and 40Mbps, and then downwards as far as we can, using h264, h265, vp9
>find out which codec keeps 4k video at best quality while keeping lowest file size
>doc the presets we use and found to be good ones
im open to any suggestions
what does a good sample video consist of?
are there any existing guides to HEVC i can use to do less manual work?
general encoding tips that someone like me who has rarely encoded shit might make use of?

4k still doesn't look that great tbh. Maybe it's because the compression or the lenses are too good, or both.

have you watched it through a 4k tv? dumb question but it seriously changed my opinion. we shot a few scenes outside the uni with the GH4 and exported it with as much quality as possible, then watched it on a 46" 4k tv and personally it was like the first time i saw 1080p/played games on a PC on ultra at 60fps.
you are correct in that honestly the quality is useless if you sit over 3-4m away, but for hueg screens and closer viewing it is excellent

During an employment speed-dating event this recruiting agency saw my resume for three minutes then said that they had a six-month mission that could be well suited for me to do. They said I needed to know Qt and when I said that I didn't know it, they said that it was "just a library" and that I could adapt.
Of course I can always learn on the fly (I'm familiar with WxWidgets for example) but I'm kinda worried that the agency is trying to sell my profile (which they don't know well) for a project that they don't know either.
What does one do in such a situation? I'd like a meeting with the client so as to ask all the good questions, what would one ask in order to be sure that this project won't fail miserably?
Just do it and muddle through. More than half of programmers do it, whether they admit it or not.

Of course its possible to learn a new library or framework on the fly, but Qt is a really advanced one.
It's a huge framework with a lot of quirks.
I think asking for a meeting with the customer is a good idea. You may also express our concerns more explicitly to your agency.

If you don't have a shitload of money to spend on a decent one you will be dissapointed.
In your price range the image quality will be terrible.
Plus you get maintenance cost because unlike any modern TV the lamp actually wears out.

The Camera is meh.
The Screen is good, but its not great like a AMOLED.
I have a old one so i have the 810 V1 which is alright.
Overall its a good phone.
The only phone i would pick over it would be a G6 Edge w/ 64GB since no Micro SD card but that would have costed double what i paid($400 vs $200)
decent phone its just people prefer flagships like sony and iphones. Plus HTC doesnt market very much, so most people ignore it.
