>hey anon why don't you buy this new obviously overpriced product
>nah I'm cool with paying less for a product that does the same for me
>LMAO WHY SO POOR

Seriously when did /g/ became shill central? I mean nobody in their right mind will pay more for something just to show they can, right?

you can thank apple fags for that
>>
>>50776749
since when has /g/ been shills?

some shitheads are brand loyal to a point beyond autism, but the majority aren't shill fags
>>
What you have a problem with is that you're poor, OP.

No but seriously, you're right but the reality is that emotional arguments (like attacks on the ego, such as 'poor' (there's nothing intrinsically wrong with being poor)) have a greater effect than rational ones.

Literally anything from a reputable company, comparing $/GB is not that hard.

If you want high read speeds and capacity I recommend an ADATA UE700. If you don't care about read speeds just get any brand that is reputable.

So what is the communis opinio on SSD/HDD hybrids, like this Toshiba MQ02ABF050H (pictured). I'm struggling to find reviews, all I see is buzzwords so I'm naturally wary of buying one.

Do they offer any advantage over e.g. a 7200 RPM Hitachi HDD? I know they are certainly cheaper than buying a 128 GB SSD + a caddy for the ODD - HDD swap.

I made the mistake of buying an SSHD, please don't do that

How to I get this lazy nigger to 4.5 GHZ
I can only get it to a stable 4.1 and every time I try to add even the slightest voltage I get that message that says "system failed to start due to overclocking failure"
>inb4 skylake bad overclock
Some people are getting these up to 4.7

It is so much better. So much gentler on the eyes and uses less power for a lot of displays.

Why are we so tied to the past that we need to mime ink on paper, when white on black actually works so much better?

If programmers can't even agree where a curly brace should go, or which editor to use when programming, why would you expect anyone to agree on which color scheme us best for a terminal?

On this note, what blue light filter do I choose for my computer? I use a 32 inch TV as a monitor and it can get really bright for my eyes at night. But there are so many to choose from, which is the best?

Hi /g/, what is the best linux?

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called “Linux”, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project. There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use.
Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine’s resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called “Linux” distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

Look at it. Why did they have to go full retard with the flat design for Plasma 5? I'm avoiding it but soon I won't be able to, unless I want to keep living in the past.

Is there any way to get Plasma 5 looking like 4? I found a theme but it only looks vaguely similar. I'm going to miss my glowing windows.

It's called "Oxygen" theme, you dolt.

Plasma 5 w/ Breeze is superior anyway.

>they know everything I'm doing
>they're trying to figure out how to exploit me and people like me with my information
This realization just hit me like a ton of bricks. I thought it was ok just to go partially free, but I'm regretting this now. How hard is it really to host my own mail server, use DDG and not use facebook, which I hardly ever post on anyways? I've made a huge mistake.

>>
>own mail server
depends on what you mean by "own".
buy a hosting plan with mailserver? no fuss.
set up your own server? well you're gonna need a computer to run and provide it (RasPi will be good enough). setting the server OS and mail demon isn't really that hard, you're gonna have bigger problems with actually making your server reachable via DNS can be hard, not to mention configuring it so other servers won't go all crazy "this mail is signed as [email protected], but it's actually from [email protected], it's surely a scam"
>use ddg/startpage
been doing so for the last year, sometimes the results are shitty - DDG seems to index large sites more, so when searching e.g. for a small local company, you will get yelp, facebook, company lists, and article from a newspaper first, with the official company site further away down the page - but in general, it's quite ok.
>not use facebook
don't know, never had an account, so can't tell how hard withdrawal is.

I'm using Slimkat on my moto g 1st gen

It was pretty much unsable with stock android lolipop and any other rooms

But it doesn't lag as much with Slimkat and it's the most lightweight rom I've tried, and I tried many.
