7 months ago I picked up a 24gm77 from fries 144hz 1ms for about 265$ before tax. Last week while moving someone slammed their brakes and my screen cracked. Fries are Jews and don't cover physical damage with the warranty neither does LG.
So now I see the aoc 144 1ms on sale for 200$ right now on amazon. I kinda wanted to buy from bestbuy because I actually trust their warranties to be full coverage but their stock is limited unless I went with the Acer 27 1440 freesync. But for 400$ do I really want a tn panel?
So the real question is do I shell out 500-600$ for a 1440 ips 120-144hz freesync monitor or get the aoc and wait for technology to improve? My old LG is also on sale for 250 right now free shipping no taxes.
I don't really play any taxing games that would drop me too far below 100 fps so freesync isn't 100% required but still nice to have for the future.
So budget tn 1080p 24inch 144hz 1ms freesync for 200$ and wait a year or two vs 600$ 27 inch ips freesync 1440p... Or something else entirely.

And freesync adds sone of latency.
And the colors of IPS are much more worth it than the latency of tn.

Is it possible to get rid of the Internet anymore?
I don't mean just blocking access to it, I mean removing all possible ways of accessing it for the whole human race? What would you need to do? How many people would you need? I'm guessing that you'd need nothing short of a nuclear war if you wanted to destroy the Internet, and even then you'd be left with pockets of 'resistance' with a couple of connected computers.
Removing electricity would destroy Internet for sure, yes, but that isn't feasible. I'd like you to figure out a way how to return the world to the 60's or 70's by disconnecting everyone and everything from the web. How?

two asus strix 480's or two sapphire nitro 480's to replace my strix 1080?
i'm leaning towards the strix since i loved my 970 strix and my current 1080 strix. i really like how the strix pcb now are 100% completely automated and the use of fluxless soldering and zero harsh chemicals. leaves no residue. when the cards get hard they don't smell.
but the new sapphire nitro looks sexy. very sleek. though i herd their rma are worse than asus in north america since they go through a third party.

nvidia is absolutely horseshit. wide spreed desktop flickering across 1070's and 1080's. main thread on nvidia forums has about 28 pages since the first week of the 1080 release and nvidia still doesn't have a fix for it.
to high latency on all pascal cards that effects everyone, even if you don't notice it you have it. nvidia has identified the problem after a month and won't have a driver to fix it until two driver releases from now.
and from the looks of it, amd cards truly do "age" well thanks to the unified gcn architecture. changes to the new generation also benefit the previous generations.
also if anyone is interested in my 1080 let me know. i plan on selling it after i get my new 480's. i know sapphire is post to come out this month and asus next month.
