Put something like an Intel NUC into it and fine a way to hook it up to the display.
Install Tiger and OS 9.2.2, download some shit off the Macintosh Garden and torrent sites, enjoy a non-x86 computer that can do computer stuff.
Niche as shit but I use a dual 1 GHz G4 quicksilver mostly to run this shitbox emulator because it's fucking great:

Depending on what version you have, it will probably be a shit web surfer if it's running PC133 RAM, a DDR model might be somewhat useful for that kind of use case though. At the very least it makes an aesthetic clock/terminal/email-checker kiosk box.

i've been trying to setup xdmcp on ubuntu 16.04 using gnome, port is listening and i can connect remotely but after login it shows black screen and shows me login again

Ok anons i need your advice/idea.
I have this old laptop that i've been trying to fix for quite some time now. It's not that bad (i remember playing Civilization V there no problem).
I took it in service to get it cleaned just little before i got new one and there they said all the hardware was ok.
It was around January of this year that i tryed to boot linux in it so I can start learning it a bit more because one proffesor on our university said it's really, really useful.
So this is the problem:
If i try starting it normaly it takes me to that loading screen of Win7 (last OS i had on him) and then switches to that start normaly/safe mode, anywhere i go it switches to diagnostics and done.
If i try booting Kali, Ubuntu, Mint... Linux from live USB it almost at the start stops with what ever it was doing (just shows you that first black screen and stops transfering data between laptop and USB) and if i try from CD it starts to make that PEEP-PEEP-PEEP sound like when you used to hit one same button on old Windows OS.
Any ideas what it could be? I couldn't figure...
