At what point does having windows 10 and other programs installed on an SSD, with an HDD for data storage become noticeably faster than just having one 1tb 7200rpm hdd.
currently weighing options on a budget pc, which i intend to be reliably fast and upgradable for the next 5+ years.
but there is still a lot im unaware of.
pretty much going to be an internet machine with light gaming.
cpu: i5 6400
motherboard: MSI H110I Pro Mini ITX LGA1151

dedikaded wam: crucial 2x4GB DDR4 2133 (cause from what i hear 8gb is already overkill for what im using it for)
gpu: radeon r7 250 2GB (not playing crisis)
psu: FSP 500w +80Gold (psu calculator + the possibility of upgrading to slightly better stuff)
storage: this is where im confused theres are my options but im not sure if it will even matter
OS + Data : WD Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM

OS: Sata SSD Sandisk Z400s 128GB

But im confused if using an (m.2)SSD as a boot drive / programs only drive is just a Glorified Power Button, since ive heard that once a program is open its Loaded into the Ram. Meaning the SSD will only speed up startup time and the opening of New Programs... but once its on the Ram, its just the Ram and CPU doing work. idk if thats accurate...

It's noticeably faster the instant you turn on your computer and Windows loads in seconds and is instantly useable upon logging in instead of chugging around while waiting for startup shit to load for three minutes

the edge is a gimmick and makes interacting with the phone shit. typing sucks and accidental input is registered all the time since there's no way to hold its tiny bezels without touching the screen. Battery life is alright though. overall I'd rate it meme/10.
If you get one, don't believe it's waterproof for a fucking second or else you'll have a useless phone and have to wait three weeks for some chinks to fix it. Are there any pmps with 4 (micro) SD slots? I want a 512gb mp3 player and I think this would be the cheapest/easiest.
4 128gb cards would run me about 160 euros, + the cost of the device (hopefully not a lot if there's some obscure thing I can get 2nd hand).
Other option would be a hard drive, 500gb of platter costs like 40 euros but I don't think there's a lot of mp3 players that accept 2.5inch SATA?

either you get a iPod Classic and add a ssd or get a FiiO X5ii, it has 2 microsd slots but afaik it supports 256gb microsd cards, can't confirm on the 256gb version but the 200gb work, even on the X3ii

I am using Opera to watch YouTube videos in pop-out mode, while my OneDrive syncs files so I can read them later on my Android.
I have accounts for everything. Windows 10 has some nice apps like Facebook and Twitter. I get notifications from my friends and work and I can check them on my phone too.
Since I have a Google account, I get better search results and my keyboard knows my most used words, so autocorrect works better.
Everything fucking works, everything is personalized to my tastes. Everything auto updates and auto syncs. I am super comfy. How about you, /g/?

With all the bullshit about Windows 10 as of late, the monthly charge for enterprise was the cherry on the sundae for me. It got me thinking a lot more about linux, but I hear there is no linux distribution that's actually friendly enough for normalfags such as myself who don't want to have to be a script kiddie to use an os. I'll add that I am a .net developer who knows his way around windows very well, but I don't want to make all the sacrifices needed to transition to linux. Many others feel the same way.
So why hasn't any group of developers banded together to make linux the ultimate Os that is everything windows should be? Intuitive interface, great for gaming, compatibility with major applications, and no fucking sending your usage information back to a headquarters. Completely locked down where you have complete control over what is sent and received on your machine?
The end of life support for Windows 7 draws ever closer and a lot of us will get squeezed if we don't have a equal alternative to switch to soon
