Other business laptops are also welcome in /tpg/ (e.g. Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook).

If you're looking for purchase advice, READ THE BUYERS GUIDE FIRST. Then post, stating budget and requirements (e.g. size and performance).
Don't buy anything OTHER THAN T, X AND W SERIES if you want the Real ThinkPad Experience™

Recommended models:
T420 - 14", normal size
X220 - 12.5", lightweight
----
No news.
----
Why ThinkPad? (also applies to other business laptops)
>They’re really cheap when you buy a used one.
>Keyboards feel excellent while typing (yes, even the newer ones).
>Great durability thanks to the inclusion of rollcages and use of glass fiber reinforced plastic for the chassis. The keyboard is splash proof and spilled liquids will drain out.
>Utilitarian design - e.g. indicator LEDs, 7 row keyboard layout on older models.
>Docking solutions that easily turns your laptop into a desktop.
>Easy to repair, upgrade and maintain thanks to readily available service manuals for almost every model. Spare parts are easy and cheap to obtain.
>The best trackpoint (that red thing on the middle of the keyboard). Great for those who type a lot or hate swiping their fingers all over a touchpad.
>Excellent GNU/Linux & *BSD support.

Is X201 Tablet worth for amateur painting assuming I've never done this before? I've watched few videos and noticed quite a bit of lag. Also, one video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVAl9eu6Jlk) states that pressure curve is a bit fucked up as well.

Mine on x220
>>
I have two options I'm considering atm, a X220 with i5-2540M and a T440 with i5-4300U and I'm a bit undecided on which one to pick.

From what I've read the X220 would have a better keyboard and I think I'd like the smaller formfactor better.

Then again the T440 would come with newer hardware (and shittier kb).

Both machines have SSDs in them and the X220 is obviously cheaper. Is there really any difference between the hardware if I'm going to only use it for school stuff and browsing?

>Laravel is LOVE

Is there something similar to pic related (an ERwin clone for Laravel), but for Rails?

I mean the only thing to get the full stack done is to have a good data model, draw it in pic related and presto then download the Schemas, Models, Controllers, Views and finally the Seeder.

It's always ExtremeHD, no point comparing results if we don't all use the same preset.

This is the best I've gotten to date, a pretty bad score for some reason. Have since overclocked the cards a little more and ran the benchmark just now but got a lower score, can't be arsed to close everything else that's running.

Does anyone else get really bad drops during the scene transitions? That seems to be what's killing my score, it drops below 30fps almost every time.

Alrite guys, here's my plan:

Around next week I need to get a pair of headphones to replace my shitster Turtle Beach X12 that broke after 5 years.

With only $0-150 (pref. to under $100), I've come down to these... I wear glasses so no Superlux please.

Sony MDR V6
Samson SR850 (cheapest option)
Philips SHP9500 (don't really want bc of low sounding bass...?)
Sennheiser 598 Special Edition Black (Black Friday Amazon will be 50% so $100 or $125)

Use is for skype, gaming, music, desktop, phone, something to last a long while.

Also no Fidelio X2 memers please.

If you got something else suggest it.

Also I'm looking for good cheapo (under $30-50) desktop microphones.
